The penultimate episode of 1923 season 2 was a bloodbath, with someone or the other dying in almost every scene. I believe if you are reading this article, you’ve likely already watched the second-to-last episode of the show and, therefore, based on episode 6’s ending, I have a few theories about what we can expect in the 1923 season 2 finale. So, with a spoiler warning, let’s jump straight to it.
Jacob May Die Next
I guess Banner Creighton’s men, Clyde and party, went a little overboard by killing the youngest Dutton, Jack, as soon as they encountered the lad in the woods. I mean, I expected such butchery from these evil men, but Jack could have at least survived till the finale to eventually die in Spencer’s arms, pushing him to the brink of madness. But with Jack gone, Spencer may need another catalyst, which makes me believe that Banner’s next victim could be none other than Jacob, whose death will eventually push Spencer to finally reveal his true face to these monsters who have been trying to slaughter his whole family. And, the way Cara had gotten Jacob to vow that he’d return safely, and how Banner’s men suggested that it would be Spencer who’ll take over the ranch, I guess, these are all hints that’ve been foreshadowing Jacob’s death in the penultimate episode. The tragic loss of one of the family members is eventually going to incite Cara or Spencer to take up arms against their adversaries and shoot down Banner and Whitfield in cold blood thereby putting a necessary end to their evil.
Alex Will Meet Her Tragic Fate
In episode 6’s ending, Alex finds herself stuck inside a car half-buried in snow with her fellow travelers frozen to death. So we are not sure what’s going to happen to her next. Even if the snow melts and the roads clear out the next day, there’s no way Alex can escape in the car, as the fuel tank was already empty. This is to say that now only a miracle can save Alex’s life. I believe a new day is going to bring much-needed hope for Alex, and some passerby will offer her a ride, with the help of which she’ll finally be able to reach her destination, Livingston, at the same time as Spencer. But because there have been so many shocking deaths in the penultimate episode of the show, I think if it isn’t Jacob, then it will likely be Alex who will take her last breath and may die in front of Spencer’s eyes. Hillary and Paul called the story of her life an “odyssey,” and it won’t be a tragedy until one of the lovers dies in the end. It isn’t going to be Spencer because dead men torn apart by the horror of the war can’t die anymore, and it will certainly be Alex who will meet her fate at the end of 1923.
Elizabeth Will Give Birth To A Son
I think one of the important answers that we all are looking for in the 1923 season 2 finale is who’s going to lead the Dutton family line. Will it be Alex and Spencer’s child, or will it be the baby in Elizabeth’s womb? In my previous recap articles, I theorized that Elizabeth will either leave for Boston or suffer another miscarriage, but for some reason, I think it’s Elizabeth’s son who will eventually lead the family. Well, it is evident that Jack’s death is going to take a toll on her and leave her completely devastated, and maybe just out of respect or to fulfill her promise to Jack, she will not leave Yellowstone ranch. Nor will she kill herself like her late mother-in-law, i.e., Jack’s mother, and may turn out strong like Cara herself. Throughout season 2, Cara had been trying to cheer up Elizabeth’s spirit and prepare her for the worst in life, as Cara always knew how uncertain the wilderness can be. And I guess Cara herself might be believing that Elizabeth will leave, but she can surprise us all in the finale. With that said, it will be Elizabeth’s kid who will be named John Dutton II, the one who is going to lead the family and later on raise a son named John Dutton III. Yes, the legendary John Dutton, whom we meet at the beginning of Yellowstone, and we follow his journey through five long seasons.
The Evil Will End
I think Taylor Sheridan and his team of writers won’t leave behind any loose ends and will certainly strike out all of Dutton’s adversaries so that the family can lead a peaceful life, at least for the time being. So yes, no matter how violent the last battle may be, Banner and Whitfield aren’t going to survive. They will eventually be killed, and maybe that will be the happiest part of the whole finale. Jacob and Cara have already seen enough horrors in their lives. The couple has been witnessing one tragedy after another ever since they stepped into America, and maybe they deserve some rest now.
Teonna Will Return To The Reservation
After her lover’s death, Teonna, who was totally heartbroken, didn’t see the point in living any longer, which was when her father, Runs, asked her to stay strong and not let the loss break her spirit. He asked her to overcome her grief so she could live long enough to be the guiding light for the generations to come. Runs told her that, sooner or later, the White man was going to turn the entire world into concrete and would forget how to live on the land. It will be during such hard times when they’ll need people of the land to teach them the old ways and how to survive against all odds. Well, it’s a good thing that she will honor her father’s last words and won’t kill herself, because in the near future, it will be her descendant, Thomas Rainwater, who’ll reclaim the Paradise Valley and return it to the people to whom it originally belonged. So yes, Teonna is going back to the reservation, though I feel, after reuniting with the community, she’ll raise a little army and attack the Catholic boarding school in North Dakota where her sisters are still being kept prisoner. We all know that Father Renaud was nothing but an agent of chaos; the true evil will not come to an end till she has burned the cursed institution to the ground. It can also be possible that Teonna may enlist the help of Marshal Mamie Fossett to help her rescue all the Native American girls trapped in the boarding school. Well, we’ll have to see how much of what I have predicted here really happens in the 1923 season 2 finale.
