Arjun does not know how to deal with the situation, as on one end, the police are after him, and on the other, the smugglers are behind his life as they believe him to be Karan. So, let’s find out what happened in the first two episodes of Bad Cop and what kind of mess Arjun found himself in.

Spoiler Alert

How did Arjun get involved in the murder case?

Arjun and Kiki were in a hotel, and the plan was to rob a man and escape from there. So, Kiki pretended to be interested in the man, and she took him to a hotel room. That’s when Arjun started knocking, and he pretended to be the husband. Arjun came inside, and he shot Kiki, though later in Bad Cop episode 1, we came to know that it was all a scam, and the bullets were fake. They just wanted to blackmail the rich man into giving all his cash and credit cards to them. The victim started having chest pains, and Arjun felt like he was going to die there. That’s when Kiki also stopped acting like she was dead and got up to help the man. The man just had a panic attack, and he was not dying. Before Arjun and Kiki could escape from there, the police arrived at the scene because they heard a gunshot being fired in the room. Kiki and Arjun escaped from the window, but when they were running through the corridor, they saw a masked man stabbing another man mercilessly. Arjun went to help the victim, but before he realized it, the assailant escaped from there.

The victim’s name was Anand Mishra, and just before taking his last breaths he held Arjun’s hand a little too hard, as if he wanted to tell him something. Arjun’s hands got bruised, but somehow, he managed to escape from there before the police came. The next day, the news came that a girl and a boy had killed Anand Mishra, and Arjun knew that if the police found any evidence on the scene, he would be in trouble. DCP Arif was in charge of the case, and he happened to be Anand Mishra’s very close friend, too. DCP Arif took a vow that he was not going to stop unless and until he found the killer. Arjun knew that he would have to ask for his twin brother’s help, who happened to be a police inspector named Karan. Arjun knew that if he didn’t do that, then the police would eventually catch him and frame him for the murder of the journalist.

Who killed Karan?

We got to know in Bad Cop that a mafia member named Kazbe was running a crime syndicate. The man was a poacher, and he was one of the biggest players in the wildlife trafficking business. In the first episode, we saw his men hunting down an elephant for ivory. Kazbe targeted many such endangered species, and because of his dominance over the entire region, nobody could do anything to him. Karan got a tip that an illegal consignment was going to be delivered at the Bhaucha Dhakka dockyard. He went there with another police officer, and that’s when Karan’s wife got to know through her sources that it was a setup and Kazbe’s men would be waiting there to kill Karan. Things were not great between Karan and Devika. She believed that Karan’s attitude towards her had changed after she was given a promotion and became her senior. Karan had a problem with authority, and he didn’t like taking orders from her. Devika tried contacting Karan after she got the news of the setup, but Karan didn’t pick up the phone. Unfortunately for Arjun, he came there to meet his brother, not knowing that he was putting his life in danger. Kazbe’s nephew, Raghav, came with his men, and he attacked the two brothers. Karan and Arjun had almost escaped when one of the goons fired a shot, and Arjun got hit on his shoulder. Arjun got saved by the rescue squad, while Karan drowned and died after they jumped into the sea. Because Arjun and Karan were twins, nobody realized that the man they saved was not Inspector Karan but Arjun. Arjun did not clear their doubts, and he went with Devika to his brother’s home, totally confused about what he should do and how he should come out of the situation.

Was Arjun able to escape from Mumbai?

Arjun, after thinking hard and talking to Kiki in the second episode of Bad Cop, decided that he would write a letter to Devika telling her about what actually happened that night and then sneak out of the house. Devika was informed by her superiors that Arjun was the prime suspect in the murder case of Anand Mishra, and she asked Arjun (believing him to be Karan) if his brother had asked him to help him. Arjun knew that he could no longer stay in that house, so he escaped that night after Devika and her daughter were fast asleep. The DNA report came and after DCP Arif got a match he believed that it was Arjun who killed his friend.

Meanwhile, Raghav was frustrated from within, and there was a fire waging inside his heart to prove his worth. After he hadn’t been able to do that last mission properly, Kazbe questioned his credibility and his potential and belittled him in front of everybody. Now Raghav was desperate to prove himself, and so he attacked Arjun after he escaped from Devika’s house, believing him to be Karan.

Raghav failed to execute the target once again but just when Arjun and Kiki were about to board the boat that was going to take them out of Mumbai, Arjun had a realization of sorts. His conscience didn’t allow him to leave Mumbai, as he wanted to find the perpetrators who had killed his brother. His brother had always been there for him, and he didn’t want to run away like a coward when he knew that he needed to get revenge for his brother’s death. But the problem was that he had left a letter for Devika stating that he was Arjun and not Karan. So Arjun asked Kiki to escape in the boat while he rushed back to Devika’s house. Luckily for him, she hadn’t read his letter, but as soon as he reached home, DCP Arif arrived there to interrogate Karan. At the end of Bad Cop episode 2, Arjun realized that he was walking on thin ice and that one misstep would put him behind bars. It will be interesting to see what he does in the subsequent episode and if he is able to take revenge on Kazbe and his gang.
