Badass Ravi Kumar’s ending largely focused on [Spoiler Alert] Ravi Kumar delivering a precious diamond necklace to Carlos Pedro Panther (yup, that’s his actual name), who wanted to give it to Laila. Now, Laila had an important reel full of pictures of confidential documents and whatnot that had been secretly procured by Carlos’ spies from the Indian government in order to deliver it to a rogue Pakistani extremist named Syed Bashir. Carlos would’ve gotten it directly and then handed it over to Bashir for a price, but Laila intervened and used the reel as her bargaining chip to get the necklace. Since Interpol’s Mahavir Ahuja and the Indian police’s Commissioner Awasthi want to stop Pakistan from gaining any kind of upper hand against India using that reel and disrupting the relatively peaceful atmosphere between the neighboring nations, they sent in Ravi Kumar. Given how Ravi Kumar didn’t know the location of the reel, he had to agree to Carlos’ demand that he steal the aforementioned piece of jewelry and put it in his lap. And the plan was to nab the reel once Laila brought it out into the open after she got what she wanted. Did Ravi Kumar succeed? Let’s find out.
Laila Got Her Necklace, Bashir Got His Reel
After conducting a diamond necklace heist in Muscat, Oman, that’d put Ocean’s 12, Entrapment, Resident Evil, and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows to shame, Ravi Kumar and his associate, Rana, showed up at Carlos’ lair to give him the necklace. The transaction was particularly personal for Ravi Kumar because Laila had a secret crush on him. Now, Ravi Kumar had no feelings for Laila, but he was in love with her sister, Madhubala. Therefore, in order to torment Ravi Kumar, Laila was forcing Madhubala to marry Raftaar, an associate of Carlos. So, not only did Ravi Kumar intend to secure the oh-so-important reel, but he also wanted to take Madhubala away from her fiendish potential husband. While exchanging barbs with Laila and Carlos, Ravi Kumar noticed that Laila was repeatedly looking at Carlos’ miniature replica of the Taj Mahal (I’ll let you decipher the metaphorical meaning of that model). Hence, he figured out that Laila had hidden the reel there and was planning to unveil it once she had the necklace in her possession. Before she could do that, Ravi Kumar pulled Raftaar over to the side and slipped the reel into the latter’s pocket without his knowledge after stealing it from underneath the replica.
Therefore, when the time came for Laila to give up the reel after she had gotten her necklace, she had nothing to show. Laila accused Ravi Kumar of theft, while Ravi Kumar accused Raftaar of stealing the reel. Eventually, when the reel was found in Raftaar’s pocket, Carlos didn’t give it much thought and killed Raftaar, thereby unintentionally freeing Madhubala. Bashir got the reel, and Laila got her necklace. That’s why Bashir and two other associates of Carlos, Bhujang and Jagawar, wanted to get rid of Ravi Kumar because as long as he was alive, all of them were in danger. Ravi Kumar, Rana, and Raja (an old colleague of both Ravi Kumar and Rana) pulled out their guns and threatened to kill Carlos. But then Carlos brought out Ravi Kumar’s mother and grandmother, threatening to kill them if Ravi Kumar tried to do anything. Ravi Kumar’s mother grabbed hold of Bashir’s gun, but Bhujang retrieved it and brought things back to square one. Seeing all this chaos, Carlos called for a song-and-dance break and postponed the killing by a day.
Ravi Kumar killed Carlos
After shaking a leg to “Dil Ke Taj Mahal Mein” (which is undoubtedly the best song of 2025 so far), Carlos lined up Ravi Kumar, Rana, Raja, Ravi Kumar’s mother, Ravi Kumar’s grandmother, and Madhubala so that they could be slaughtered. Carlos was so sure that Ravi Kumar was about to die that he revealed that not only was Jagawar (who was Ravi Kumar’s uncle) responsible for the death of his father and brother, but Carlos himself had a hand in their death as well. I couldn’t exactly figure out why Carlos was involved in a family property dispute. Maybe he was putting out hits on people in order to make a name for himself in the crime world.
Either way, Carlos made a mistake by sharing that piece of information with Ravi Kumar, because he went berserk and began killing every single one of his henchmen. Laila too switched sides and helped Ravi Kumar take down Carlos’ bodyguards. Ravi Kumar took his time to kill Bhujang, Jagawar, and Bashir, thereby securing the reel. At the end of Badass Ravi Kumar, the titular hero went after Carlos, who challenged Ravi Kumar to shoot him in three tries while he danced (no, I’m not kidding). Surprisingly enough, Ravi Kumar missed twice, and it was only in the third try that he hit Carlos. However, Carlos wasn’t dead, and he made a run for it after stabbing Ravi Kumar. Of course, Ravi Kumar caught up with Carlos and killed him, bringing his reign of terror to an end.
Third Film in ‘The Xpose’ Franchise Teaser
Badass Ravi Kumar had a string of scenes that played over the credits, and I’m writing this from memory. So, pardon me if I miss out on any details. As far as I remember, Ravi Kumar gave the reel to Awasthi for safekeeping. Laila apologized to Ravi Kumar for letting her jealousy cloud her judgment to such an extent that she was willing to give up Madhubala to a monster like Raftaar, and it seemed like Ravi Kumar accepted her apology, and they went back to being good friends again. It was revealed that Rana and Raja’s love interest—yes, it was the same woman—had gotten married to the postman; hopefully that brought their juvenile rivalry to an end because they kept fighting with each other over the same woman. Ravi Kumar had a brief conversation with what seemed like Rana’s father, who explained that there were so many people spread across the world who looked like Rana because, wherever he went, he got the women of that country pregnant. Apparently, Rana’s father’s genes are so strong that they all end up looking like him. In addition to all that, Ravi Kumar got a call from Carlos’ twin brother, who warned Ravi Kumar that he was about to face his wrath.
So, I guess that’s the big tease for the third film in the Xpose franchise, where we’ll probably see Ravi Kumar going up against Carlos’ brother. That said, I’d like to warn you that it has taken over 20 years for us to get a sequel to The Xpose. So, be cautious before getting hyped about a potential sequel to Badass Ravi Kumar. Given how there’s no connection between The Xpose and Badass Ravi Kumar, except Himesh Reshammiya playing a character called Ravi Kumar, I would be cautious before expecting that this fabled third film will have anything to do with the second installment. Due to the meta nature of these two films, there were times when Badass Ravi Kumar seemed like a movie starring Ravi Kumar, the actor, and not Himesh Reshammiya. The opening of the movie actually had Ravi Kumar addressing the audience through a theater screen within the theater screen. Hence, I don’t think that’s a stretch because, as per The Xpose, Ravi Kumar is a cop-turned-actor. Therefore, it’s possible that the film that we’ve watched was a film set within the universe of The Xpose. And the third entry could be something different entirely with a new set of actors and a totally different story centered around the one and only Himesh Reshammiya. Anyway, those are my thoughts on Badass Ravi Kumar and its ending. Let me know your opinions on the film in the comments section below.
