‘Beauty In Black’ Part 1 Ending Explained: Is Body Dead Or Alive?

Published

Tyler Perry’s Beauty In Black is an over-excited family drama that keeps getting worse with each twist. The 8-episode show (part 1) tells the story of a stripper named Kimmie who finds herself embroiled in some family drama with some rich people. The series shows just how ridiculous rich people can be, and what they’ll do to cover up their crimes. Kimmie’s life has been a mess ever since her mother threw her out at the tender age of 17. She gets caught up with the wrong people and starts working for a man named Jules. Now Jules works for a massive cosmetics company under the main boss named Horace, and his brother Norman. When Norman’s wife ends up dead, he decides to show everybody who’s boss. Let’s try to break down everything in the last episode of Beauty In Black to figure out what’s coming next.

Spoiler Alert

How Does Horace Learn The Truth?

In the penultimate episode, Angel and Kimmie decide to rob Horace. Kimmie only agrees because she thinks he betrayed her and didn’t save Rain’s life. This is because they told her Rain was dead in the hospital and she never bothered asking Horace the truth. All she knows is that he’s a very rich and powerful man, so the best thing they can do is rob him of some cash and get away from this whole mess, specifically Jules. In episode 8, the house that Horace takes Angel to is about to be robbed when Kimmie decides to try and get Horace out of there. What she doesn’t realize is that these aren’t Angel’s guys at all. They have guns and stuff, too. They get Horace to tell them where the safe is and he says he has to personally open it. In fact, he’s just taking out a gun to shoot them all dead. Kimmie and Angel are in shock, but Horace needs answers so they’re alive for now. Kimmie tells Horace that she was mad because she thought he didn’t help Rain and so she wanted to rob him and get out of there. Horace is confused the whole time because she keeps referring to him as her boss. What she doesn’t realize is that Norman’s the boss that Jules has teamed up with and Horace has no idea about the club being his illegal business.

Angel and Kimmie tell Horace they’re going to get out of there and not going to touch his money. Angel thinks they should run, but Kimmie says because Rain’s in the hospital, they should stay put and that they’re safe. She also has an instinctual feeling that Horace isn’t bad. Or at least not bad enough to rob his employees. When Jules shows up to do the clean-up, Horace learns that the robbers were actually from The Be Safe Company. The same place that Horace got the safe from. Anyway, Horace isn’t so bothered by that but more so by Jules himself. He asks Jules if he knows a guy named Harold Collins. This guy, who used to be friends with him and his brother back in the day, is now working with Norman, but Jules says he doesn’t know. Jules is great at lying, as we know, so he could simply be lying about this too. But I have a feeling Horace thinks his brother set this whole thing up because his wife died. Horace is also obviously angry that Jules is running an illegal business under his name and with his brother, so the one guy he’s been trusting could betray him in seconds? When Horace gets home, he calls Harold and tells him he needs to see him immediately.

What’s Roy Planning?

On the other hand, while Mallory and Calvin are playing games in Roy’s bedroom, Roy decides to go see the lawyer, Lena, fully high. He thinks he runs the business, so he can talk her out of the lawsuit and save the day. This is obviously impossible, but anyway, Lena agrees to meet him in the middle of the night, and because Jules has to clean up the mess in Horace’s secret home when Roy’s driver calls him to tell him what’s going on.  He ends up sending Mallory to clean up that mess. Roy offers Lena a job at their firm because he thinks she’s after money, but he also says some inappropriate things. When Mallory shows up, she cleans out the whole restaurant and tells Roy to get out of there. She, too, then offers the lawyer a job, which doesn’t really look very good for them. Later, Roy and Mallory are heading home from the mess Roy’s created, and Roy notices something that makes him realize that Mallory’s cheating on him. They start brawling it out in the backseat (you know what I mean), when the car stops in the private road. It seems there’s been a massive accident, and fire trucks have arrived.

Who’s in Charles’ Car?

Now, we know from the previous episode that Charles’ stuff was stolen by Salvo the stripper and that he was in the bar till closing time. I know he was screaming about his missing watch, but I have a feeling Salvo was in the car and Charles is just fine. Or at least I hope so, he’s definitely one of the better characters of the show, despite being a typical rich brat. Mallory calls Horace immediately to come check the private road, but she hasn’t told him what’s happened just yet.

Is Body Dead Or Alive?

Angel agrees with Kimmie, and they go see Rain. She’s doing much better, but she can tell that something’s the matter with Kimmie. Kimmie doesn’t tell her any of what’s happened and just pretends like everything is normal and they’re going to go back to work all the same as before. Angel tells Kimmie they should leave, and they do despite her protest. When they get to the motel, something terrible awaits them.

In Beauty In Black’s ending, Body is there with her new girl, and it happens to be Kimmie’s little sister Sylvie! Kimmie then tries to beat Body up, but the older lady pulls a knife on her. However, Kimmie isn’t going to see anything happen to her sister, so instead of letting it go, she gets in a car as Angel distracts Body and rams it into her. This is only the beginning of the story, and we’re going to have to wait till Spring 2025 to know what’s coming next, but in the meanwhile, we’re going to try and figure out what awaits us in part 2. I also think the person to look out for is Calvin; he seems quite sus, especially after the last scene that we saw of him, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Additionally, we can’t be 100% sure that Body’s dead. Maybe she’ll survive and never be able to dance again? What we’re sure about is that Body’s world’s about to change for the nasty, and the same for Kimmie too. Body’s definitely one of the worst characters on the show, so honestly I wouldn’t be upset if she were gone, but that should mean Kimmie gets Sylvie back.
