‘Bitch X Rich 2’ Episode 9 Recap And Finale Theories

Published

Episode 9 of Bitch X Rich 2 is as intense as you’d imagine. Honestly, I don’t think the ending is going to be satisfying enough for how much the show has built it up, but we’ll have to see tomorrow in the season finale. I think this kind of “makjang” school drama has become quite common lately, so I’d imagine it’s hard to stand out. Anyway, episode 9 focuses on Hye-In and confirms that Hae-In did, in fact, end up dead at the end of episode 8. Also, how did this turn into a “talking to your dad to feel better” episode? That was quite interesting to see, but hey, it’s good to know that Jin-Wook is in fact one of the good guys. With that said, though, let me just jump straight into episode 9.

Spoiler Alert

What Does Yul-Hee Offer Hye-In?

Bitch X Rich 2 episode 9 begins with Hae-In’s suicide, and Hye-In breaking down from it. The next day in school, Do-Eon is a mess because he is desperate to blame someone for Hae-In’s death. While it is a suicide, there are definitely multiple people to blame. He gets violent in class with Woo-Jin, who honestly should be in prison, considering how he beat up Hae-In, with her ending up dead practically the next second. Additionally, Hye-In is a witness in this case, too, so that doesn’t look great for her. Do-Eon’s next target is Yul-Hee, and she rightly believes he doesn’t have it in him to beat up a woman. She also reminds him that she really didn’t kill her this time. And this all happens in the girls’ washroom, which is a bit crazy, but hey, a man in love does crazy stuff. When Do-Eon leaves school because it feels suffocating, Je-Na follows him and admits that Hae-In’s death is her fault, because she gave the necklace to the Chairman. It looks like she genuinely regrets it, though, which is a good thing. Meanwhile, Hye-In stands up to one of the minor bullies in class and tells her not to mess with her. She then has a word with Yul-Hee and agrees to call out Je-Na as the perpetrator if she deletes the video. Yul-Hee tells her that the video isn’t even with her; it’s with the press team (at her mom’s company), and it will be broadcast to everybody, not just sent to her dad.

Meanwhile, Jin-Wook tells Je-Na that he’s actually after his father, and that he wants to see him destroyed. He also offers to give her his own Hanymeong group holdings so that she can take over the company and become the first female high school student to head a conglomerate. On the other hand, Hye-In and Do-Eon have a conversation in which she tells him that all she ever wanted was to be like the Diamond 6 kids. Hye-In doesn’t know what she should’ve done. She brings up the fact that the killers are still alive and roaming free. At the same time, the school chairman hears from Chairman Cha that they’re going to manufacture a sex scandal about Je-Na’s father to plummet the stocks. But Hye-In is going to change all of this pretty soon, it seems like.

On the other hand, Do-Eon meets with his father, who used to be the chairman of the school. This is the first time they’re meeting since he left school, which is absolutely bizarre to me. Do-Eon plans to use the help of his dad to straighten things out at school, specifically to get Hae-In the justice she deserves. At the same time, Hye-In has a conversation with her dad, asking him if she could ever disappoint him. He says that whatever she does, he will always be on her side.

While Je-Na threatens her stepmother with the DNA results, Yul-Hee gives Hye-In a contract with her mom’s company and tells her that she’s got a special trust fund in her name, which she’ll be able to access once she announces at the engagement that Je-Na killed Hae-In. But Yul-Hee’s plans are all botched when Jin-Wook tells her that Min-Hee’s child is, in fact, not at all related to Je-Na. Jin-Wook also tells her that he’s always hated people like her who have been born with a golden spoon in their mouth and think they can control everybody with money. Yes, Je-Na is also rich, but at least she’s honest, eh?

What To Expect From The Finale?

Now, Yul-Hee’s behavior is specifically as a result of how her mother treats her terribly and expects her to be the worst person. While Je-Na gets the same treatment from her dad, she had a nice mom who evened her out and made her nice, but Yul-Hee turned out entirely evil because of her mother. At the same time, everybody treats Min-Hee like she’s a queen, not knowing what’s happening in the background with Je-Na. I’m a bit confused about how she’s going to get out of this, though. Will she abort the kid? Or just get a divorce or run away? I don’t really know.

At the end of episode 9, Jin-Wook and Je-Na’s engagement is announced at the school’s 30th anniversary. But the chairman gets a message and then sees Do-Eon’s father in the corner of the room. When he confronts him, we learn that some big news has been revealed, but we don’t know what it is. Maybe Seo Hee-Su is going to be the chairman again. The episode ends with Hye-In announcing to the crowd that she was present when Hae-In was pushed off the building. But she doesn’t admit who she saw pushing her, because that’s a reveal for the final episode. Now, I’m confused about Sa-Rang not being in this episode at all? Where did he go? What’s he up to? On the other hand, I don’t think Hye-In will betray her bestie Je-Na, even if Yul-Hee’s offered her a dream life. What do you think?

I think at the end of the show, all the bad kids will get punished for what they did, because this is an eat-the-rich show after all. Jin-Wook and Je-Na are likely not going to be engaged, but might become good friends, maybe even get together, but not so seriously. I do think Hye-In and Je-Na’s friendship is long-term, and after all of this, they can finally be good to each other. Hye-In will also get to stay in school, but she will probably mind her own business now rather than focusing on getting rich.
