‘Bitch X Rich 2’ Episodes 7-8 Recap & Ending Explained: Is Hae-In Dead?

Published

With only 2 episodes left in the second season of Bitch X Rich, the drama’s being dialed all the way up, and everything feels like it’s in 5th gear. The second season so far has been quite messy in my opinion, and I can’t really tell what they’re going for, what kind of message they’re trying to send, and if we’re only meant to root for Je-Na out of all the people here. Because literally everybody else is unlikable in this situation. Even Hye-In doesn’t have anything interesting to say. These last two episodes especially seem to be going round and round without giving us any actual answers. We already know who pushed Si-Eun and who pushed Hae-In, but how do they get revenge? It seems like the bad guys keep winning, and don’t get me started on Jin-Wook. The man’s got a mask on at all times. But with that said, let’s jump into episodes 7 and 8.

Spoiler Alert

Who Is Blackmailing Hye-In?

Bitch X Rich 2 episode 7 begins with Je-Na being told that her drug results have come back positive. She tries to make it clear that she doesn’t do drugs by screaming “it wasn’t me” at the principal, but it’s in vain. Meanwhile, Hae-In shows everybody how naive she is by asking Yul-Hee if she’s still her pet. Yul-Hee tells her that if she does one more thing for her, she’ll delete the video she has of Hae-In having sex with Woo-Jin. Meanwhile, Hye-In sees Yul-Hee and Jin-Wook nearly kissing, but she doesn’t see Jin-Wook try to avoid it. Jin-Wook is still creepy, but I guess he’s trying to use Yul-Hee and ultimately help Je-Na. Meanwhile, Hae-In asks Hye-In to hand the necklace over to the police and let everyone know that Yul-Hee pushed her, but Hye-In doesn’t have the necklace anymore. Still, she tells Hae-In she’ll do it when the moment is right. But Hae-In still wants to be part of Diamond 6 and tells Hye-In that she’s the only one who understands her situation. Honestly, Hye-In should’ve given the necklace to the cops first thing. She’s definitely at fault here.

Later, Je-Na arrives at Hye-In’s house at night, because she’s got nowhere to go, considering she’s been deemed to be a druggie. Hye-In’s dad is extra sweet to her, and Hye-In realizes he’s still eating ramen because the packs have run out. She goes out to buy some, and Bo-Seok appears out of nowhere to attack her. Maybe Yul-Hee sent him, too, and he’s happy to harm the girl who messed his reputation up, but dude’s holding a hammer (are you okay?). But there is a moment later on in the episode where he’s acting suspicious, walking out of the school. Is he Black Dog? Sa-Rang ends up saving Hye-In because he’s basically stalking her and knew the dude was following her. Later at night, we see a friendship bloom between Je-Na and Hye-In, and the latter tells the former about seeing Yul-Hee and Jin-Wook together.

Now, Jin-Wook has to help Je-Na because his father is furious that he couldn’t “keep her in check.” He uses a recording he got from Je-Na’s secretary where she’s speaking to Min-Hee. In this recording, it’s clear that Min-Hee asked the woman to plant drugs in Je-Na’s room so she would come up positive. So Je-Na’s case is resolved, and she gets to spend some quality time with her mom and Hye-In, too. On the other hand, Hong, the secretary, also told Jin-Wook earlier that Je-Na is a good girl, and that she’s known her for a really long time. Boo hoo, the rich, spoilt brat is actually a sweet girl with daddy issues. Meanwhile, Hye-In decides to lure Woo-Jin out, pretending she’s Black Dog to catch Woo-Jin. Woo-Jin never shows up, but while waiting for him, Yul-Hee sends Hye-In the video of her undressing, telling her she has to be her pet from now on.

Is Kim Hae-In Dead?

Episode 8 begins with Hye-In going off to look for Yul-Hee. She doesn’t know what to do anymore because she thinks her life’s ruined. She even gets on a  bridge but fortunately doesn’t betray her dad. Guess it was just to clear her head a little bit. Meanwhile, Yul-Hee’s shocked to find out from her mother that Je-Na’s charges have been cleared because the secretary admitted to everything. It looks like Je-Na’s actually happy to talk to Hye-In, asking her why she hasn’t shown up at school. Je-Na, in the meanwhile, figured it was Jin-Wook who helped her. Je-Na tells Jin-Wook that she has evidence to prove Yul-Hee was the perpetrator in Hae-In’s fall, but more importantly, she’s going to get rid of Min-Hee too, with the DNA test. She’s got everything under control and is going to release the information to the Black Dog channel. But how is she going to reach them? I don’t know, are we supposed to just assume Jin-Wook is Black Dog because the headline reads exactly as Je-Na said it to him?

Meanwhile, Sa-Rang tells Hye-In he was worried about her because she stopped responding to him the previous night. On the other hand, Do-Eun gives Hae-In her scarf back, and she admits to him that the person who pushed her was Yul-Hee. At the same time, the engagement between Jin-Wook and Je-Na is still on, thanks to her name being cleared. Now her dad says she’d never do such a thing. Also, the chairman has forgotten that these two people are still kids, because he suggests they host the engagement to coincide the school’s 30th anniversary celebration (what?).

In the meantime, Woo-Jin has a word with Yul-Hee, telling her about the anonymous message. She tells him that she’s done with him, and then also reveals that she knows he pushed Si-Eun, and there was video evidence on Si-Eun’s phone. The Black Dog video goes up, and like I said earlier, it says the same thing Je-Na said. Yul-Hee decides to look at some CCTV footage and finds a video of Hye-In going down the stairs to where Black Dog asked Woo-Jin to show up. She uses that as another form of blackmail against Hye-In. She tells Hye-In to tell the chairman that Je-Na pushed Hae-In, or she will tell him that Hye-In is Black Dog and send the video of her undressing to her dad, ruining his life forever. Hye-In tells Sa-Rang about the chairman’s bit, not about the nudity, of course. I think the important part here is to see if Hye-In will be a good friend to Je-Na or not after all of this.

On the other hand, Yul-Hee and Je-Na have a massive fight. Hye-In tells Yul-Hee that the reason she’s become so “evil” is because of Woo-Jin. But Yul-Hee has much worse to say to Je-Na. She basically tells her people only tolerated her because of all the money she has. Honestly, this high school drama. Also, this whole sexy music thing when Jin-Wook and Je-Na are hanging out is really funny to me. Later, Hye-In tries to talk to Je-Na; I guess, in a way, she wants to admit to her what Yul-Hee is doing. Honestly, the girl could’ve helped her. I don’t get it. Didn’t they start trusting each other after the sleepover? But she simply tells Je-Na that she’s now going to leave Diamond 6. At the same time, Do-Eun tells Hae-In that he’s moving to Malaysia and that she should go with him as a scholarship student from his family’s foundation. Dude’s still head over heels for her; I can’t understand why. But it also looks like she’s finally healing. The poor girl assumes all her problems are going to be solved now.

At the end of Bitch X Rich 2 episode 8, Woo-Jin finds Hae-In and beats her to a pulp. Dude clearly doesn’t know what else to do, so he’s blaming the innocent girl who slept with him, calling her names. He thinks she’s solely at fault, even though he was the one who pushed Si-Eun. Everybody in this school is messed up. A bruised, battered, and bleeding Hae-In bumps into Hye-In, who really wants to help her. Hae-In begs Hye-In to help her as the only witness, telling her to just give up the necklace, but Hye-In tells her that she doesn’t have it anymore, but she promises to find another way, because right this second, even her dad is in danger. Hae-In realizes she’s got nothing left; she tells Hye-In that she had been a fool for trusting Hye-In. She promises that Hye-In will only speak the truth from now on and walks onto the road, where a truck is oncoming. The episode ends with a shocked expression on Hye-In’s face. But, unfortunately, I think that to really end this all, Hae-In has to be dead for real this time. This is especially sad because she was going to get a new start with Do-Eun, and they could’ve actually been happy. Hae-In hasn’t just given up on her revenge; she chooses to give up on life because she doesn’t see any other solution here. The reason she tells Hye-In that she will only speak the truth from now on is that Hye-In will be the only witness to her death yet again. This will scar her for life; that is what Hae-In has cursed her with.
