No matter what Felipe did in Community Squad season 2, he ended up sabotaging his own cause. After whatever had happened in season 1, he felt that he would win the respect of his superiors, but things didn’t pan out as he would have wanted them to. He tried very hard to make an impression on Sofia, but he failed to do so, and the latter felt that he was just not interested in her for certain reasons. Felipe had been selected by an intelligence agency, and he was given the task of finding information about a man named Martin Gauna, aka Milton, who ran a coffee shop in town. Felipe was not cut out for the job, and moreover, he was just not able to handle the extra workload. He knew that Milton was a dangerous man who was completely capable of killing him if he found out that he was a spy, but still, he took his chances. So let’s find out what happened in the Community Squad season 2 ending, if Felipe was able to find out about everyone who was working with Milton, and if he was able to expose them.
Spoiler Alert
What was Milton’s illegal business?
From the very first episode, we saw that Arellano, the head of the Buenos Aires intelligence agency, wanted Felipe to keep a watch on the owner of Ceuro Cafe, Milton. She had her doubts about the man, and she believed that he was involved in some kind of illegitimate activity. Also, the way he had just shot the Koreans dead made Felipe realize that he was a dangerous man. Felipe’s clumsiness made Milton feel that he could be of some help and that the latter could take advantage of him since he was in the Urban Guards organization. Felipe brought a walkie-talkie for Milton, which he stole from Esteban, and then also made sure that a formal charge against him wasn’t registered. But till the very end of Community Squad season 2, we weren’t able to find out what Milton was actually involved in. I mean, he did kill anybody who tried to betray trust, but still, Felipe wasn’t able to find out what the source of all his earnings was. But then, one day, Felipe, wearing a wire, went to meet Milton, and he saw a very familiar face walking into the cafe. It was none other than the politician who was standing against Carolina Ponce in the race to become the next mayor of Palermo. It came to be known that Milton laundered money and helped Navarro fund his campaign. Navarro, on the other hand, had promised to give Milton the contracts for various public projects if he was elected for the position of mayor. Apart from all these things, Milton also ran a secret society that consisted of people who liked to indulge in rather twisted sexual fantasies. Beneath the coffee shop was a black room that Navarro and other high-profile clients frequently visited. Felipe was extremely shocked when he found out about it, and he was quite sure that Arellano and other intelligence officers would come to his rescue and arrest the culprits. But nothing of that sort happened, as there were double agents working in the intelligence agency who didn’t want anybody to find out what was happening.
Who saved Felipe’s life?
Sosa, one of Arellano’s colleagues, who worked with her as an agent, tried to stop her from going to the coffee shop, as he didn’t want her to save Felipe. But when Arellano didn’t listen to him, he had no option but to eliminate her. Pound, another sweet-looking elderly agent working in the intelligence agency, came out of nowhere and shot Arellano dead. We came to know that Sosa and Pound had some other plans, and they’d decided to sell their conscience and earn some big bucks by joining hands with the corrupt politician and Milton instead. Apart from them, even Nacho, with whom Sofia was romantically involved, was a double agent who was working for Navarro and Milton. So they reached the coffee shop and offered Navarro and Milton a deal. They told them that they wouldn’t make the recording that incriminated Navarro public in return for a share in the profits they made.
Felipe couldn’t imagine that his own people could betray him like that. But what he forgot was that there were a bunch of misfits out there who were ready to put their lives at risk to save one of their own. Before being killed, Arellano had been able to send a text to Jose Figueroa, the head of the community squad, about what had happened. He was a bit unsure about putting his life at risk, but the urban guards knew that there was one man who wouldn’t hesitate to go on that mission. Miguel, the ex-coordinator of the Urban Guards, had been fired from his job after he had helped the specially abled robbers escape from the bank. After just one call, he got ready and decided to lead the gang and attack Milton’s coffee shop in full force. Also, by that point, Sofia had figured out that Felipe’s life was in danger, and together with Esteban, she too was ready to go and rescue Felipe. So the Urban Squad arrived at the scene, and somehow they managed to overpower Navarro, Milton, and their gang. Navarro and Milton were able to make a narrow escape, but all the information about their illegal business was made public.
What Happened To Navarro And Milton?
All the effort put in by the Urban Guards to save Felipe’s life and to bring out the truth about Navarro went down the drain when Navarro won the elections and became the new mayor of Palermo. People felt that every politician lied to them, but here was a man who was at least honest about his illegitimate activities. It was bizarre, but that was what happened. He declared in his first speech as the mayor that the modernization of the public properties would be entirely privatized and that the community squad would be dissolved and its headquarters and all the resources would be allocated back to the real law enforcement officers, with them getting a 300% increment. Miguel and the others couldn’t believe that, after all that information that they had collected, after those obscene videos of the mayor indulging in all sorts of shady activities were made public, the people still voted for him. Meanwhile, Milton, who had also escaped, thought that he would be able to start afresh, and with the help of the mayor, he would build his empire back. But that didn’t happen, as someone was lurking in the shadows to take revenge on him. At the beginning of the series, we had seen that Milton had killed Chang Cho and Kim Wong, but what he didn’t know was that one of their family members (probably Kim Wong’s son/assistant) had been able to escape. That young boy arrived at the end and shot Milton dead. Milton’s dream of expanding his empire remained unfinished, and I believe that it would have an impact on Navarro, too, once he came to know about it.
What’s next for the community squad?
Edgar and Paloma, the Urban Guards who had the drug money that the Korean gang was looking for from season 1, decided to open a cafe with it. They decided to hire all the unemployed urban guards in the cafe itself since they weren’t being hired by any other organization, and clearly, they were in a deplorable state. Also, Felipe and Sofia did end up together, and this time around, the former was able to buy the mattress that he had been wanting since season 1. Also, with Felipe’s persuasion, they bought a crib, thinking about their beautiful future. Felipe and Sofia were very different people, but they loved each other, and they made the big decision of getting an apartment together. Though the community squad had been dissolved, I don’t think that Miguel and his people will stay out of action for a very long time. It is quite possible that Carolina will be able to find her footing and win the trust of the people, and launch a campaign against Navarro. Also, Kim Wong’s son was still out there, and he could pose a threat to the urban guards and come after them to take the money that belonged to his family. As for Felipe, he had proved his worth as a good intelligence officer, and so I wouldn’t be surprised if, in season 3 (considering there is one), he would be made in charge of a secret agency and asked to conduct covert missions and look after the safety of the people of Palermo.
