Spoiler Alert
Why did Lilli grow suspicious of her sister’s fiancé?
When Lilli came back to Palma, she was met with a string of unexpected surprises. Her sister, Valarie, had moved in with a guy named Manu, whom she had met 4 months back. She was so serious about him that she wanted to get married to him and start a bed and breakfast business with him. Val brought Lilli to the same finca where they planned to start their business and told her that this would be her place to stay for the next few days while she was in town. Lilli worked as an auditor, and she had a rough estimate of how much a property like that would cost. She didn’t know how Val and Manu were going to get their hands on the money, but she felt that her sister was taking too much of a risk. But Val was blinded by love, and she felt that she had found the man of her dreams. Lilli kept her doubts to herself until the day she went to a bar together with Val and Manu, and tried to pay for her drinks using Val’s credit card. The payment was declined, and she didn’t understand how that could have happened. She confronted Val, and that’s when she got to know that Val had paid her entire savings and more to Manu as her contribution to the business they were starting. Manu was handling all the finances, and apparently his uncle was helping him out with his finances. So after Val paid her share, she didn’t know what had happened to her money. Also, Val told Lilli that she wanted to sell the property that her mother had left for them. Lilli clearly wasn’t in favor of doing so, as she was emotionally attached to the land, and she felt that it was all she had left of her mother. But Val was persistent, and she got really angry when Lilli told her that she didn’t want to meet any investors, as she wanted to keep the land. Manu, in reality, was a scammer and a swindler, and he was working for some really powerful people. The only problem Lilli had was that she didn’t have any solid evidence to convince her sister that she was being scammed. She was head over heels for Manu, and even when the truth was right in front of her eyes, she didn’t want to see it. That was what people like Manu were exceptionally good at: they knew how to charm a person, manipulate them, and coerce them.
How did Manu win Lilli’s trust?
Manu knew that he was losing his grip over the entire situation, and he needed to do something to win Lilli’s trust. That’s when Tom Sommer entered the scene, and the responsibility of manipulating Lilli was given to him. Tom Sommer and Manu worked for a real estate mogul named Nick Unterwalt. Nick had his eyes on Lilli’s family property, and when he realised that the sisters weren’t interested in selling it, he decided to find another way to make that happen. Lilli met Tom when she went to the bar together with Val and Manu. Quite evidently, there was a spark between them, and they flirted the entire night. They got intimate with each other, and since Nick had CCTV cameras installed in the entire place, he got to know about it. Nick hadn’t made any plans of including Tom in the matter, but when he saw them getting intimate, he decided to seize the opportunity and get some leverage over Lilli. Tom didn’t want to be a part of the plan because it was the first time in a long time that he had found somebody interesting, someone he felt was worth his time. But Tom was not left with much of an option. So he did two things: he tampered with the water supply at Val’s finca so that she came to ask for help, and he got an opportunity to get close to her. Then Tom staged an entire act where one of the men who worked for Nick was told to steal Lilli’s bag and run away. Manu had to go after him and make it look like he put his life at risk to get Lilli’s bag back. Lilli did feel a little overwhelmed after the act, and it had the effect on her that Tom had anticipated. Then the final blow came when Tom made Lilli meet an appraiser, who was assigned to determine the exact value of the land. The appraiser told Lilli that Nick was offering her way more than the market value, and that she should definitely take the deal. So Lilli got convinced, and she told her sister that she was ready to sell their property. Manu might have been good at what he did, but he still was an amateur. He made a small silly mistake that ended up ruining Nick’s entire plan and, moreover, exposing them.
What did Girasol want from Lilli and Valeria?
A woman named Bea, who happened to be one of the women Manu had scammed in the past, came to meet him. She still believed that they were together, but seeing Manu with Val left her stunned. Manu acted very coldly and told her to get a life and stop bothering him. Lilli knew that something was fishy about the way Manu acted; she knew that he had scammed her. Lilli found out that Manu didn’t work at the hotel he said he did, and so she became even more eager to meet Bea and find out what had happened with her. Lilli was able to find Bea, who told her that Manu had taken her insurance payout and ghosted her after that. She showed her the pictures, and it was enough for Lilli to understand what was happening. Lilli took Bea with her to confront Manu. Even after Bea told Val everything, the latter was just not ready to believe that Manu’s sole intention was to scam her. Lilli was frustrated, and she didn’t know how to make her sister see reality. Lilli went to Nick’s office to get his address, and she saw that the man was already in talks with investors, and he had made an elaborate plan to construct a resort on Lilli’s land. Lilli crashed Nick’s party, and that’s where she got to know that even Tom was working for them. She felt heartbroken, because she had felt that there was something real between them. Tom wanted to make her understand that his hands were tied and that he didn’t have any intention of hurting her. But things escalated, and he couldn’t find the time to talk to her. Girasol, Nick’s wife, threatened Lilli to sign the contract and sell them her property in a very sweet tone. She told her that she already had Val on her side, and that naive girl would readily do anything they asked her to. Girasol didn’t want to take things to extremes, but she wasn’t left with an option. Nick was constantly asking her to get him the signatures since the investors were losing their patience. He didn’t want to lose out on the deal, and he made that very clear to his wife.
Did Tom Betray Lilli?
At the end of Fall for Me, Val finally came to the realization that Manu was scamming her. She heard him talking to his friends, boasting about how to sway girls, and that’s when I believe she finally saw the truth. But by the time Val had that realization, it was a bit too late. Girasol asked Manu and Tom to abduct Val and Lilli and bring them to her. Her plan was to make them sign the contract at gunpoint. Lilli, even after knowing that Tom was working for Nick, kept meeting him. Even after everything had happened, she felt that she could trust him, though she was really disappointed in him. Tom told Lilli that the first time they met was not a setup, and that he actually felt attracted towards her. He told her that he’d started working at the age of 16 since he didn’t have anybody to depend on. He said that he was obliged to work for Nick and Girasol, but that didn’t mean that he approved of their ways.
Tom told Val and Lilli that he knew where Manu would be the next day, and offered to take them to him. Val confronted Manu when she spotted him with another woman, but then both of them vanished. It was all a setup, and Lilli realized it when Tom brought her to her property, where Girasol was holding Val at gunpoint. Tom said that Girasol had promised him a villa if he made Val and Lilli sign the contract. Lilli couldn’t understand how he could do so, as something just did not add up. Lilli was not wrong; as that time around, Tom was putting on an act for Girasol and Manu. Tom suddenly turned towards Manu and snatched his gun from him. Girasol shot at Tom, but by that time he had jumped off the cliff together with Lilli. Val, seizing the opportunity, escaped from the property, and before Girasol could do anything else, the police arrived at the scene. Before heading to the property, Tom had called the local police station and told them all about what was happening. There were ongoing criminal cases against Tom too, and so he decided to turn himself in. He knew that he would have to go to prison if he called the police, but that was the only option he had to save Lilli and Val’s lives.
The sisters made a fresh start, and I believe the incident brought them closer. A year later, Val was able to start her bed and breakfast business, and she seemed really happy with her life. Tom got released from the prison, and he came to meet Lilli. I believe Lilli and Tom will end up together. She knew he was the kind of guy who would always have her back and whom she could blindly trust.
