The second season of My Life with the Walter Boys ended on a shocking cliffhanger, hinting at the possibility that George Walter might suffer a fate none of us ever imagined. [Spoiler Alert] In the season 2 finale, the family’s oldest, Will, arrived at the house, looking for his dad, hoping to have a serious conversation with him. I believe he wanted to tell George that he was going to be leaving Silver Falls, as he wanted to explore the world. Will really gave it his all for the Guest Ranch project, but now that George has officially pulled the plug on it, Will doesn’t have much left to do in town. He didn’t want to spend the rest of his life in his dad’s shadow, and therefore wanted to give him the news personally, but when he arrived at the house, one of his brothers told him that he had left for the top field and hadn’t returned since afternoon. Well, that was a warning signal, right?
Of everyone in the family, Will was the only one who understood that there was something wrong, and he quickly ran towards the top field, only to find his dad lying unconscious. I mean, we didn’t see that happening on screen, but I guess that’s what happened. And as soon as Will found his dad, he called an ambulance to take him to the hospital. We saw an ambulance pulling up to the ranch, which means George isn’t dead. He may still be breathing, but the show’s ending didn’t reveal anything further. If I am to theorize, the first thing that comes to mind is that George suffered a mild heart attack. The reason? Well, we all saw him getting all worked up over the Guest Ranch project. Jackie’s uncle, Richard, who was also a partner in the development project, was making too many changes to the actual proposal, and George wasn’t comfortable with any of it. He didn’t want to turn his family’s ranch into a corporate resort. He just wanted to earn enough money off the land so he could keep it in the family and preserve it for future generations, but Richard, being the big city guy, failed to understand his attachment to his family’s legacy. George tried to keep his calm for Will because he didn’t want to deny him the opportunity to build something of his own. He didn’t want Will to see him as a dad who cannot accept change. But there’s a difference between change and destruction. What Richard was doing was destroying the things George’s ancestors had preserved for generations, and you can’t just let an outsider waltz in and destroy that, will you? It’s a Yellowstone story, if you ask me. John Dutton fought for his ranch. He declared war against the megacorporations to protect Paradise Valley, but George is no Dutton. He’s this pretty easy-going, calm guy, who I believe never ever raised his voice in his life. In short, George kept things to himself, and I believe he had been overthinking a lot. And even though George had found a solution to save his land and cut Richard out of their lives, I don’t think the last conversation between them went well.
If you remember, in episode 9, during Halloween night, George paid Richard a visit at the place he was staying. George told him about his plan to cancel the development project and lease the land to Little Cap Winery so that he could pay back the investors, including Richard, who put his own money into the project. However, the show’s ending didn’t reveal whether Richard agreed to George’s proposal or not. He had threatened to sue him and bring in his real estate attorneys if George tried to back out of the contract. Now, from episode 9 to the ending of episode 10, we didn’t find out what exactly happened between George and Richard. Actually, we didn’t see George on-screen again. He was missing for the entirety of episode 10, so we don’t know where he had been or things he had been dealing with. But if he got a heart attack, then it could be possible that he was going through a rough phase after his meeting with Richard, and he didn’t share his issues with anyone, not even with his wife, Katherine. It could be assumed that Richard rejected his proposal and decided to bring in the lawyers to take away George’s ranch so he could move ahead with the Guest Ranch project. And George couldn’t stop worrying about losing his land this whole time.
Hence, the third season of My Life with the Walter Boys is likely going to be centered around a legal battle between Richard and the Walter family. Maybe the show will introduce a bit of courtroom drama to make things interesting. But the real question here is: who will Jackie choose? Her uncle or her new family? Well, we know how this is going to end. Jackie’s going to convince her uncle to drop the case in the end, but there’s going to be a lot of drama on the way. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see if Will will be able to leave town or not. I guess he’ll blame himself for his dad’s condition, and being the eldest son of the family, he will stick around to look after his brothers and help his mom take care of things. Will may also lead the court battle against Richard, but it seems like I am kind of overreaching now. Maybe George didn’t have a heart attack. He could’ve just fallen unconscious due to a heatstroke or collapsed on the field while exploring the new vines for his vineyard. I mean, it all could be a red herring, right? But I am still going to push my theory that Richard won’t back down so easily. He will certainly file a legal case against the Walters, and it will eventually bring the family together again, forcing Jackie to make the hardest choice of her life. I feel bad for her. She’s still not able to choose between the two Walter boys, and now she will have to choose between two families. Well, that’s just my thoughts on the crazy cliffhanger of My Life with the Walter Boys season 2, but if you have anything to suggest otherwise, feel free to comment below.
