‘Kota Factory’ Season 3 Ending Explained: Did Jeetu Bhaiya Leave Kota?

Published

Kota Factory Season 3 was largely centered around the final stages of the IIT-JEE, NEET, and Board exams and whether or not Vaibhav, Meena, Meenal, Uday, Shivangi, and Vartika would be able to clear the cut-off marks. Apart from that, the fate of AIMERS, the coaching institute founded by Jeetu Bhaiya, hung in the balance as he struggled to strike a balance between his personal and professional lives. To make things even more complicated, the Minister of Education for Rajasthan offered Jeetu Bhaiya a post in his ministry because he needed teachers like Jeetu to craft the policies that’d affect lakhs of students. That gave Jeetu the option to leave Kota, go to Jaipur, and start a different chapter of his life. So, what happened at the end of Kota Factory Season 3? Let’s talk about it.

Spoiler Alert

Did Jeetu Bhaiya leave Aimers?

Since the results for the main exams of IIT-JEE went well, Jeetu Bhaiya announced that he wasn’t going to be a part of AIMERS anymore. He knew that Pooja Didi, Gagan Sir, and Bablu were ready to take the coaching institute to the next stage. With the success of the main exams, new students were flooding into AIMERS. So Jeetu knew that that’d solve their financial woes. And since his proximity to the students in Kota was becoming detrimental to his mental health, he thought that accepting the Education Minister’s offer to be a part of the state’s policy-drafting department was the best thing for him. Is that the right thing for Jeetu to do? Well, if Jeetu is so affected by the lives of a handful of students, I don’t know how equipped he is to handle the issues that an entire state is facing. He was so disturbed by the death by suicide of one student. How is he going to cope with the fact that there are many students who give up on life on a daily basis? Jeetu’s USP is that he is aware of ground reality. He wants to bring that perspective to the education ministry. While that sounds great and whatnot, bureaucrats and policymakers tend to lose sight of their aim once they become embroiled in the minutiae of their job and get busy dealing with politicians. Is Jeetu Bhaiya equipped to handle all that while taking care of the lives of lakhs of students? Is he ready to compromise on his ideals and do what’ll benefit the state and central governments from a financial standpoint? From what I have seen, Jeetu isn’t cut out for this new job that he has undertaken. He was clearly not fit to continue teaching. Maybe he could’ve taken up an administrative position at AIMERS until his mind and the financial condition of the institute became steady. If he still felt that Kota wasn’t for him, then he could’ve gone for the administrative position in the education ministry. Right now, it just feels like he is leaving Vaibhav in the lurch after essentially failing him.

Why did Vaibhav fail?

On the day of the IIT-JEE Advanced exams, everything that could’ve gone wrong for Vaibhav went wrong. He didn’t get any sleep. He went to the wrong examination center, and if it wasn’t for a random, generous uncle, he wouldn’t have reached the right examination center on time. But all that amounted to nothing because Vaibhav failed to clear the cut-off. Uday failed, too, but he never expected to get into any IIT. Meenal, Meena, and Vartika made the cut. However, Vaibhav’s failure came as a shock to everyone. He broke down when Jeetu Bhaiya paid him a visit, as he felt that his life had become directionless. That said, instead of leaving Kota and doing what kids usually do when they don’t get into IIT or don’t aspire to get into IIT, Vaibhav decided to stay in Kota, re-enroll at AIMERS, and try again. Now, you can say that the stress, exhaustion, and sleep deprivation before exam day caused Vaibhav to fail the test. However, the truth of the matter is that he isn’t built for this. I don’t mean that in a negative way. Being built for IIT isn’t the be-all and end-all of human existence. Maybe Vaibhav is better at something than all the IITians in the country. It’s possible that he is just working hard in the wrong direction, and if he didn’t confine himself to the boundaries of Kota, he would’ve found his vocation. Now that he has invested so much in his aim to be an IIT-ian, he sees it as the only viable option in his life. And since nobody is willing to tell him that there’s a life outside of IIT, maybe Vaibhav will learn his lesson in the ugliest way imaginable.

Can We Expect a Fourth Season?

Why did I assume that Kota Factory was the final season? Well, the trailer had the phrase “one final attempt” in it. At the time of writing this article, the show’s IMDb page shows 2019–2024, which means that the show is ending this year. There are multiple articles out there that refer to Season 3 as the final season. So, it’s possible that this is indeed the final season of Kota Factory. That said, the conclusion of the third season is quite open-ended. Vaibhav is returning to the battlefield. Hence, his future is uncertain. Shivangi’s NEET results are still unclear. Uday’s life is a question mark. Meena, Meenal, and Vartika will go to IIT, but there’s no saying whether or not they’ll be able to survive in the IITs they go to without their support system. We don’t know if Gagan Sir, Pooja Didi, and Bablu will be able to handle the pressure of the incoming students and the intimidation they’ll undoubtedly face from Maheshwari, Prodigy, and every other well-established coaching institute in Kota. And then there’s the curious case of Jeetu Bhaiya, who is going to deal with politicians and bureaucrats while scripting the future of lakhs of students and tackling the monsters in his head. Yes, you can definitely say that the makers of Kota Factory are leaving the futures of these characters up to the viewers’ imagination. However, if this third season ends up being a massive hit, I can assure you that Netflix is going to force TVF to keep making season after season of this stupid series until the well runs dry. If that’s something that you’re looking forward to, well, keep an eye on the horizon for an official announcement from the creators of Kota Factory.
