‘Love Is Blind Germany’ Season 2 Cast Guide: Who Are The 3 Final Couples?

Published

Despite not ever being interested in reality TV, especially dating shows, I can’t try to claim I don’t understand the hype of a show like Love Is Blind. A show that manages to shine across borders and remains largely conscious of how ridiculous its premise is. The thing is, I know the show is called “Love Is Blind,” but you’ll have the hottest people going on the show, so really, anyone who does show up already knows that everyone’s going to be insanely attractive. The question is just, “Am I attracted to them?” It’s funny this show doesn’t exist in India yet, when it’s literally the arranged marriage setup wrapped in the bow of all things glamorous. From pods to the chapel, the show is definitely highly entertaining and will not disappoint if you’re down for some drama. Love Is Blind: Germany might be in a language you may not understand, but there’s one common language of love that makes it work. The show began with 30 contestants, 15 men and 15 women, but then narrowed down to 5 vibrant couples. How do they know it’s going to be 5 couples only, though? What if they end up with more? Or worse, less? A mystery that I will never be able to solve. But, with that said, let’s jump straight into the Love Is Blind: Germany season 2, contestant list. For the purposes of this article and my sanity, we’ll be talking about only the 10 cast members who make it out of the pods.

Andi, 42

I’m starting strong with the oldest cast member, but also the most immature one as well. If you’ve read our other article about this show, you’ll know that he’s the worst contestant on this show. Not only is he meant to be more mature because of his age, but he also should be someone who respects women way more than the other men, just because he’s supposed to have more experience, amirite? But this man is the opposite of anyone who deserves respect. He’s moody, he flips as easily as a coin toss, and he really has no right to be attractive to so many women. I mean, what is it that drew 3 beautiful women to him? It just makes no sense to me. I guess they thought, “Oh, 42, mature and well established,” but instead they got, “Can you do my job for me?” The three women interested in Andi are Nadja, Celia, and Yasmin. First, he tells Celia that he wants to have a special date with her, and then, when he realizes he likes Yasmin more, he decides to tell Nadja, who lost the guy a long time ago, to tell Celia that he’s chosen someone else. I mean, ridiculous. Ugh, this man makes my blood boil.

Gunnar, 33

I think Gunnar might be one of my favorite contestants, mainly because he knows what he wants and why he’s here. He is seeking a partnership but doesn’t want children. He’s really clear about what he’s looking for, and that’s quite endearing in a show where men are notoriously uninterested in actually getting married but just force themselves into it because of some weird peer pressure (I’ve only seen one other season, but still feel like this is something of a “common trope”). Anyway, Gunnar is quick to decide who he likes as well, and a couple of women are interested in him until they learn he doesn’t want kids. However, he’s emotionally available to Josy in a shocking way, so she decides to give him the benefit of the doubt. Some might say Josy’s making a mistake, especially because oftentimes, in such situations, women end up thinking men will change their minds about kids, but that doesn’t happen, so it could be a big problem in the future.

Jubriel, 28

Oh man, I got a break from my frustration when I spoke about Gunnar, who I’m clearly biased toward, but then comes Jubriel, who might be worse than Andi in some ways. Jubriel has to choose between two incredible women, Josy and Wandi. The thing is, Jubriel builds a deeper connection with Josy, clearly, but instead of letting the whole thing go, he decides to stick with his “second choice,” Wandi. Clearly, this man was already out of it before it started, and it feels so unfair to Wandi. But to make matters worse, as soon as they’re in the room together, he immediately flips the script on her and starts to ignore her, not seeming in any way attracted to her. Just because she’s inexperienced, why is he acting like the one who doesn’t know what to do? Anyway, they walk out before they can move in together, so that’s that.

Konstantin, 36

I think Konsti is the most decent of the men on this list. He seems to have lived a decent life, but then had to have brain surgery because he had a tumor and thought he was going to die. I think this makes him a sensitive guy, but there’s really not much to remember about him otherwise. There are some communication gaps with this couple, though, and they definitely struggle a little in the arguments department. I bring this up because he tries to tell Josy that she should consider reducing how much she smokes, and then she gets mad, but he gets mad in return, too, so that doesn’t help anyone.

Jan, 27

The youngest of the lot, Jan, definitely seems to be a baby in every way. The big problem he had was that he always felt like he got friend-zoned, and the show didn’t really do him any favors in that department. Jan finds Loan attractive only because she’s eloquent and has good grammar. I don’t think that’s something to base your life decisions on, because when he sees her, he’s in disbelief that she’s hot and shows cleavage and doesn’t look like a nerd who spends all day reading. He’s definitely got some growing up to do. Even though Loan slipped up and said she’s 30% Viet during the pod dates, Jan decided to go ahead with her, only to realize it was a bit much for him later.

Yasmin, 30

I’m sorry to say it, but Yasmin is 100% giving “pick me” vibes, and I feel terrible putting those words out there. Her big insecurity is that she’s too attractive, so men don’t take her seriously when they see her. However, she completely ignores the other women, especially when Andi is a prick to Nadja and Celia, who clearly dodged a bullet with him. What she should’ve done was realize that he would treat her like crap in the future too, but instead she thought “oh, I won!” and went along with it, sigh. I guess they kind of work for each other because of this, though.

Josy, 29

Josy is biracial, and she didn’t know her father was Black for the longest time. Then she found out 6 months before the show that he passed away, and she didn’t even get to say goodbye, so she’s quite heartbroken right now. I do think her wanting kids and still saying yes to Gunnar is quite a risk, but it’s also very brave. I think it’s not wrong for her to give it a try and then decide at the altar if she wants it or not. But emotionally, I think this couple is very mature.

Wandi, 28

Someone get this girl off this couch because dang, the way she got treated, I’d have thrown my shoe at the guy. From the get-go, it seemed like Jubriel only ever cared about physical and sexual attractiveness. Then, when he realizes he’s not really into Wandi physically, he immediately shifts the blame onto her, saying she’s putting pressure on him. Bruv, she’s literally trying to hold a regular conversation with you. Wandi definitely got out of this show a winner because Jubriel is such a loser; good riddance to him.

Jessi, 32

To be honest, the only thing I can remember about Jessi is her calling Konsti’s very clean apartment dirty. Honestly, it’s almost as if she’s randomly finding fault in something where there’s no need. She’s got an ordinary personality, but she can be really mean. The same with her reaction to the no-smoking thing—crazy that despite knowing he had cancer, she just walks away and has a smoke in that moment. Maybe she’s just got a mean disposition. I do think she might have undiagnosed OCD, which is why her talking about cleanliness comes off as a bit unwarranted to regular folk.

Loan, 26

Loan may be 26 in age, but she’s bold, beautiful, and absolutely self-assured. Everything about her screams “I know what I’m doing,” which is the absolute opposite of Jan, which is probably why they feel so platonic. She’s already at a place where she knows exactly what she wants, while he’s still lost. Loan makes a great case for herself, even giving Jan many chances to pull back, but instead he waits till the moment they’re writing their guest lists to tell her he’s just not that into her. Sigh.
