‘Mayor Of Kingstown’ Season 3 Episode 3 Recap: Is Iris Hiding Something?

Published

The third episode of Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 revolves around a new alliance forged between Mike’s enemies, who, needless to say, are going to bring chaos into his life. The entire episode builds on the danger looming over Mike and his friends, and these threats and attacks are bound to increase two-fold in the upcoming episodes. I know Mike is going to find a solution to all these problems eventually, but what I fear is that Mike may lose a friend or two in the upcoming battle. And is Mike ready for another loss in his life? We’ll find out, I guess. So, without further ado, let’s recap the events of episode 3.

Spoiler Alert

What does Konstantin Noskov want?

Soon after his arrival in Kingstown, Russian mobster Konstantin Noskov started cleaning up Milo’s mess and hunting down his sympathizers so that he could run his business without any hiccups. In the first episode, Konstantin found out that Tatiana had helped her husband, Milo, escape the city and had been trying to contact him so that she could warn him about Konstantin. However, as soon as Konstantin got wind of this betrayal, he confronted Tati in the alley and shot her. In the third episode, a homeless guy found her dead body, along with her kid, in a bin.

As Mike arrived at the crime scene, Ian suggested that Konstantin was behind it, which was when Mike lost his cool and barged into the Russian bar to warn him not to kill innocent people in his town, or he would have to face the consequences. Here, Mike literally declared war on the Russian mobster, who had no option left but to join hands with Mike’s worst nemesis, the Aryans. Konstantin wanted to take over the city, but he knew that he wouldn’t be able to do so until he had gotten rid of Milo’s informants and his rival, Mike McLusky. But wait. If Milo is really alive, then can we expect his return to Kingstown to avenge his wife’s murder? Also, he might team up with his arch-nemesis, Mike, to take down Konstantin. Well, that would be cool.

What is Merle Callahan planning?

After KPD destroyed Aryan’s stash house in episode 1, the gang’s bosses got furious with the police meddling with their affairs. They wanted to teach them a lesson, which is why they brought in their most merciless soldier, Merle Callahan. Now, the Aryans believed that Mike had been siding with his friend, Bunny (the rival of the Aryans gang), and helping him get an upper hand in the drug trade business. They suspected that Mike leaked the location of the stash house so that Bunny could lead the business, which was why they poisoned Bunny’s drugs so that he would be forced to change his supplier. In the previous episode, the Aryans also got rid of their weak leader, Gunner, so that Callahan could take charge and lead the gang back to its former glory.

As soon as Callahan came into power, he planned an attack on Bunny’s main man, Raphael, so as to eliminate Bunny’s dominance, but somehow Raphael survived, at least for now. However, Callahan isn’t going to stop anytime soon, as he has been introduced as one of the most merciless gangsters out there. And what’s more dangerous is the fact that Callahan found himself a new ally in none other than Konstantin. With their joint alliance, these two can turn Bunny and Mike’s entire world upside down and bring chaos to the city that no one would be able to contain.

Is Iris Hiding Something?

Iris had previously been arrested by the traffic police and put behind bars, awaiting the court’s orders as she refused to give her fingerprints to the police. It was obvious that Iris had been trying to protect her secret identity, and she didn’t want Mike to find out about it. Mike, on the other hand, eventually believed that Iris had left Kingstown and was a bit relieved, but as soon as Konstantin’s crimes came to light, he got worried, thinking the Russian mobster would try to eliminate Iris too, as she used to work for Milo. With Kyle’s help, Mike finally located Iris and helped her come out of prison. But she had to give her prints. Now, Ian knows about Iris’s true identity, which he is going to reveal to Mike sooner or later. And judging from Ian’s reaction, it doesn’t look good. It is going to come as a total shocker for Mike McLusky.

What is Mike’s plan of action?

Mike knew what Callahan was capable of, which is why he suggested that Kareem, the prison warden, put their differences aside and focus on the bigger threat. Mike asked Kareem to keep Callahan away from the lot so that he couldn’t plan anything big in prison. He suggested the same to Bunny: inform Raphael to be cautious until they have dealt with Callahan. On the outside, Mike visited Konstantin once again and told him that he knew that he had tried to kill him. Mike didn’t report the hit because he didn’t want things to get messy, at least not for now. He offered Konstantin a truce because he wouldn’t be able to survive in Kingstown by waging a war with the mayor. But even though it seems like Konstantin has agreed to Mike’s terms, he won’t stop hurting his friends, i.e., Billy and the police. And it all became quite obvious after someone planted a bomb outside the police station.
