Even though the ending of MobLand season 1 pretty much tied up all the loose ends, some fans are still curious about where Eddie disappeared all of a sudden. [Spoiler Alert] The last we saw of this lad was when he tried to suffocate his mother as soon as he came back after meeting Maeve in Oakpark Prison. The evil “Mother Nature” told Eddie that his father, Kevin, wasn’t his biological father, and that his mother had been sleeping with his grandfather, Conrad, who was actually his father. Well, I don’t know if you can blame Eddie; listening to all these shocking revelations, anyone would have lost their mind. But as Kevin said, that’s what his mother does. She toys with people’s heads until they turn into monsters, from which there’s no coming back. There’s also the fact that the final episode is literally titled The Beast in Me, and features everyone revealing their true self and letting their inner demon come out of their cage. With her rough and dry words, Maeve just unleashed the beast in Eddie, and the lad went straight to his mother, asking why she had turned his entire life into a joke. At this point, Eddie had blood in his eyes, and he would have actually killed Bella if Kiko and Zosia hadn’t intervened. They thrashed the angry lad so that he wouldn’t dare pull such a stunt again, and soon after, Eddie walked out. This was the last time we saw Eddie in the episode. Later, Richie’s men attacked the safehouse, which was why Kiko and Zosia evacuated all the women into the woods, so that Harry’s men could deal with Richie’s thugs before they could do any lethal damage. Now, neither did we see Eddie in the woods, nor did he return to the Harrigans’ house after the family’s rival, Richie, was dealt with. And what was more questionable in this entire scene was that Bella didn’t even bother to ask, “Where the hell has Eddie gone?” So, I believe Bella has a fair idea of Eddie’s whereabouts, which is why she seemed so relaxed. No, Eddie didn’t die, nor is he in any kind of danger. I don’t think MobLand season 1’s ending implied anything of the sort, but what I am quite sure of is that Eddie had indeed run away from the house.
You see, the young man has just found out that his father wasn’t his father, and grappling with such a revelation that had literally turned his life into a mockery, he doesn’t know whom to trust anymore. In the previous episode, he was talking to the dogs and comparing his life with theirs. I mean, the lad was having a serious existential crisis. He didn’t know if his father or mother, or anyone, for that matter, loved him anymore. But now he could connect the dots. He had told Harry’s daughter, Gina, that his father had always been very cold and distant from him, mostly because, somewhere at the back of his mind, Kevin had always known the truth about Eddie’s true parentage and couldn’t let himself become the devoted father Eddie wanted or needed. In a way, Kevin had done the same thing with Eddie that Conrad had done with him. Kevin, struggling with his own past, failed to become the ideal father, and now it was his failure that would eventually torment Eddie, or, as Kevin said, turn him into a monster, just like Maeve wanted. And the kind of “succession game” these folks are playing, I wouldn’t stop myself from assuming that somewhere in the near future, Eddie could turn against Kevin and the rest of the family to get the throne. I mean, being Conrad’s son did make him a legitimate contender, right?
But as of now, the lad’s missing. He needs some time to process all these new revelations. I guess he will be away for a while so he can gather enough courage to be able to face his father, Kevin; his mother, Bella; and his biological father, Conrad, again. And as far as Maeve is concerned, I think by revealing the truth, she just put another leash on the already burdened lad. And now she’s going to try to use him for her own benefit. Her madness and chaos haven’t come to an end, and shortly after she and Conrad are released from prison, I think she will continue poisoning Eddie’s mind so she can corrupt him completely. Kevin can see through his mother’s tricks, and therefore will not fall for her vile and manipulative words again, but Eddie’s still a teenager, and Maeve can mold him the way she wants. And why is she doing it? Well, obviously after Eddie sits on the throne, Maeve wants to be his queen, the one who rules the mob land from the shadows.
