‘Oh My Ghost Clients’ Episodes 3-4 Recap & Ending Explained: What Happened To Eun-Young?

Published

Oh My Ghost Clients is reminiscent of old-time K-dramas, specifically because it addresses serious subjects with comedy. Jung Kyung-Ho has the best comic timing, and there’s no doubt that I will continue to watch the show specifically for him. The 3rd and 4th episodes focus on a nurse who has been mistreated at a hospital. This is a typical K-drama trope, where we see how harsh the Korean hierarchical system can be. It’s degrading and hurtful, so almost all shows will touch upon this subject, but somehow it doesn’t seem to have made an impact. But at least it might get people to become a little bit more empathetic and understand who might be having a tough time and why. Anyway, with that said, let’s get into the story of Eun-Young, the nurse.

Spoiler Alert

What Happened To Eun-Young?

Oh My Ghost Clients episode 3 begins with Mu-Jin meeting with Bo-Sal again, and he’s shocked because he thought he was finally done with the ghost stuff. But what he doesn’t realize is that this is essentially a gig for 6 months. Of course, he didn’t really get to read the contract, seeing as the man pushed him to sign it as fast as possible. When Mu-Jin “wakes up” from being electrocuted, he is possessed by a woman who acts up when she (well, he) sees the doctor who is treating Mu-Jin. Mu-Jin grabs the doctor by the collar and asks him why he did something like that to him. Of course, the doctor doesn’t understand what this means. But certain words seem to ring a bell: “How does this man know what I told that one nurse?” Mu-Jin then even punches the doctor, getting thrown out of the hospital and banned from it.

When Mu-Jin is back home, he wants to talk to the “ghost,” Eun-Young, but Bo-Sal tells him that he needs to experience what she went through to help her. Eun-Young was a new nurse at the hospital, and the head nurse always bullied her. Even if Eun-Young was doing the right thing, it all came down to hierarchy. Eun-Young is now a vengeful spirit, and she wants Mu-Jin to help her get justice. This is quite different from the previous ghost, indicating that not all of them are calm. Anyway, the biggest reason for Eun-Young’s death was the same doctor Mu-Jin attacked. Despite Eun-Young telling him that he shouldn’t give the patient a particular prescription, the doctor told her to do exactly that.

Because Mu-Jin was possessed and attacked a doctor, the trio decide to do a “godly” intervention. They go to a shaman and a Buddhist temple and get yelled at by a Christian priest because they try to get in the confession booth all together. None of this helps, of course; Bo-Sal is lingering everywhere. But this leaves Mu-Jin devastated, because he doesn’t know how to help himself or the girl. Finally, he goes to Bo-Sal for help, but he just sends him back empty-handed. That’s because Mu-Jin doesn’t need to look to the heavens above to figure out how to help the girl. He’s got Hee-Joo and Gyeon-Woo by his side.

How Do Mu-Jin And His Gang Help Eun-Young?

Hee-Joo first sets up a meeting between Mu-Jin and Eun-Young’s family. They tell him that Eun-Young would never get breaks, and she pretended she was okay at work, but in truth they could really tell that she wasn’t. They give him the card of the firm they went to for help. Those guys dumped the case pretty early on. Mu-Jin and Hee-Joo notice that the firm is one that likes to work for the rich, because the office is fancy and the man’s wearing an expensive watch. It’s obvious they won’t do any actual work. They claim that there was no evidence that Eun-Young was bullied at work, so it was a futile case.

Finally, though, when Hee-Joo drops a bunch of sheets in the office, Mu-Jin is reminded of Eun-Young having filed a report at the hospital, which was dropped under a shelf when Lee Seo-Jeong, the head nurse, yelled at her about it. It was obviously long forgotten, so now Mu-Jin and the gang just need to get their hands on it. Gyeon-Woo has purchased a pair of glasses with a camera built in. Nobody can tell that he’s recording what’s going on, and nobody’s going to recognize him at the hospital because the last time everyone had their eyes on Mu-Jin. Gyeon-Woo goes into the hospital pretending to be a doctor. The nurses are shocked to see such a handsome doctor at their hospital. He asks one of them where the storage room is, and she corrects him, saying he’s probably talking about the supply room. Gyeon-Woo gets his hands on the report, but he also gets caught by a nurse who knows that the new intern in the department is supposed to be female. Gyeon-Woo makes a run for it, but at the same time, Mu-Jin enters the hospital to try and talk to Nurse Lee. He’s immediately seen by the evil doctor who led Eun-Young to her death, but makes a run for it. Hee-Joo misses the action because she had to use the toilet in the middle of work all of a sudden. Obviously Gyeon-Woo and she will end up together.

Gyeon-Woo and Mu-Jin, being chased, end up meeting in the stairwell and run upward to the roof so they don’t get caught. But when they get to the roof, they see Nurse Lee there, about to do the same thing that Eun-Young did. This makes us realize that the bullying is systematic. Instead of blaming the doctor, who also yelled at Lee and Eun-Young, the blame all went to Lee, who was bullied and sidelined by the rest of the nurses. Mu-Jin immediately tells her not to jump, but she slips, and he grabs onto her arm. In the post-credit scene, we see that Bo-Sal is holding her from below because they have to have an entire conversation here.

Mu-Jin gets possessed by Eun-Young again, but this time she’s not vengeful; she wants to tell Nurse Lee to tell the truth so that she can make amends and apologize to Eun-Young for real. Mu-Jin and Gyeon-Woo manage to pull her up just as the hospital security arrives. Lee starts to cry and hugs Mu-Jin, who seems to be himself at this point. Gyeon-Woo and Hee-Joo make a video of all these events and even show the report being filed. This video starts to go viral, so more information comes out. The hospital staff were told to pretend that Eun-Young was brokenhearted from a breakup, which is why she ended up committing suicide. The boyfriend didn’t know about this, but he comes forward to Mu-Jin after seeing the video and tells the gang that he was a coward who broke up with his girlfriend when she needed his support the most. Eun-Young didn’t have a choice but to be tormented and stay on a pay cut for making a mistake at work (even if she didn’t make the mistake that killed a man).

At the end of Oh My Ghost Clients episode 4, Lee, who had ripped out the sheet where Eun-Young had written down the doctor’s instruction (proving that he was responsible for the dosage that killed the man, and it wasn’t her decision), presents it to the cops. This starts a massive investigation in the hospital, finally bringing justice to Eun-Young. But of course, the doctor walks away scot-free. This entire situation also launches Gyeon-Woo’s channel, essentially setting the trio up to make money and survive by just helping “ghosts.” The episode ends with Mu-Jin almost getting hit by a truck driven by a driver who is essentially sleeping. The next case must be related to some sort of event involving an overworked truck driver.
