Spanish Creators Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato rode further with their Latin Pulp Series and served their fans with Sky Rojo Season 2. The thrill continues as three women, Coral, Wendy, and Gina, who were pushed into the dirty business of prostitution, try their best to run away from Syndicate Lord, Romeo, and his two lethal minions, Christian and Moises.

Sky Rojo Season 1 erected Romeo’s sturdy empire that he operated from his stronghold Las Novias Club in Tenerife (Island in Spain). He illegally abducted girls and compelled them to work as hookers, but three women dared to shake down his kingdom of cards. Season 2 follows their plight hereafter.

‘Sky Rojo’ Season 1 Recap

At the end of Sky Rojo Season 1, Coral visits Romeo’s bar to retrieve their passports so that they can leave the island, while Wendy and Gina wait for Coral’s return near a petrol pump. Moises shows up at the pump, but Wendy and Gina bury Moises and his car in combat. In all the pursuit, Wendy gets hurt and bleeds badly. Season 1 ends with the cliffhanger whether these girls will be able to leave the island or not.

‘Sky Rojo’ Season 2 Plot Summary

The drama begins with Coral saving Romeo’s life and sniffing too much cocaine in her confident pride. Before a stoned Coral can leave Las Novias Club, she is attacked by one of Romeo’s loyal employees. Coral blacks out and fall on the floor.

In the desert, Wendy and Gina grab a motorbike and run away from buried Moises. But to their worst luck, they are attacked by Christian running after them. Wendy points a gun at Christian and threatens to kill him in revenge. Both share a personal past conflict where Christian sexually abused Wendy, but she realizes that she isn’t inherently a killer and thus, leaves without harming him. Nevertheless, Christian runs towards the construction site and digs out his brother, Moises.

After a thunderous chase and run, Romeo finally catches the three women on the run and buries them underground. He pours cemented concrete over their car to make sure the three die in there and hence closes their chapter for once and all. But is it how their story is going to end?

‘Sky Rojo’ Season 2 Ending Explained

Christian and Moises wanted to leave the filthy business and start anew. The brothers wanted to part with Romeo and settle in Namibia with their ailing mother suffering from dementia. However, Romeo had lost too much, and too many close ones, his wife, Coral, his sanity and hence was in no mood to part away with his soul brother Moises.

Moises soon realized Romeo’s obsession and, out of guilt and for his former feelings for Coral, dug up the girls from the concrete grave and saved their lives. Moises assisted Coral, Wendy, and Gina to a Motel and gave them some money to leave the island the following day. However, a bitter Coral didn’t want to leave before destroying Romeo, and hence the three planned a heist to steal Romeo’s earnings from Madeira.

Subsequently, Romeo kidnapped Moises’s mother to compel the brothers to stay with him and run his nasty club. Coincidentally, to save their mother, Moises and Christian planned a similar heist to steal money from Madeira and trade it with Romeo in exchange for their freedom and their kidnapped mother.

The lives of six characters crossed paths again. During the heist, Christian was accidentally shot, and Coral took Moises hostage. Romeo thought Moises ran away with his money and locked his bleeding brother Christian to threaten a fugitive, Moises. Coral, Wendy, and Gina planned to leave the island through the waterways. Wendy and Gina left early to arrange for a truck to load their money, while Coral was left behind to take care of chained Moises.

Romeo didn’t try to save a bleeding Christian who bled to death on the robbery spot. Later, he blamed the robbers (Coral and gang) to ignite a fury of revenge in Moises. Coral, Wendy, and Gina left the island with the money, but Romeo and Moises reunited to take vengeance against them.

How did Romeo convince Moises to stay back?

A massive chunk of Sky Rojo Season 2 relied on Moises and his association with Romeo. Moises father was an alcoholic who used to abuse his mother physically. On an unfortunate night filled with rage, Moises attacked his father and killed him.

To hide his crimes, Romeo helped Moises bury his father’s dead body amid the desert. Later, the two flawed criminals became soul brothers and started a syndicate later joined by Christian.

All these years, Moises owed his life to Romeo, who saved him from the law and gave him a new life, a luxurious one indeed. But later, Christian convinced his brother to leave the nastiness behind and start fresh. Romeo built his empire brick by brick with the help of Moises and was in no mood to let it all perish. Hence, in the end, he didn’t save a bleeding Christian as he blamed him for being the root cause of all doubts fidgeting in Moises’s mind.

After Christian was killed, their mother died, and Coral on the run, Moises had little motivation left to leave Romeo or his business. Hence, he stayed back.

What to Expect in ‘Sky Rojo’ Season 3?

At the end of Sky Rojo Season 2, Moises quotes, “We may have lost the battle. But not the war.” His words suggest a fit of boiling anger to take revenge from Christian’s murderer, i.e., Coral, Wendy, and Gina, who have already left the island on a cruise. But with such bitterness, Moises is bound to find them out from any corner of the world.

Sky Rojo Season 3 will continue with the hunt if it goes into production.
