Tell Me Softly is a Spanish-language teen drama on Prime Video that tells the story of a young girl who is stuck in a whirlwind romance between two brothers. From the writer of the very popular Culpable series comes a second toxic romance, but this time it doesn’t involve one man, but two handsome brothers pining for the main lead. As usual, the older brother is the toxic one of the two, pretending to hate the girl because of a traumatic incident in the past, while the younger brother has golden retriever energy, trying to use every opportunity he gets to get with the main lead. Which brother will get her, who does she genuinely love, and what happened all those years ago are the main premises of the Tell Me Softly series. It’s a shame the first film is quite lacking in anything except good stars because it doesn’t use them to their full potential and leaves us very disappointed. The main cast definitely tries its best to do a good job, but what feels like an unfinished script genuinely doesn’t work for them. With that said, though, let’s dive into the cast and character guide.
Spoiler Alert
Alicia Falco, as Kamila or Kami
Kamila is the leading lady of this film. She’s feisty, independent, and quite sure of herself until the two Di Bianco brothers show up and her demeanor changes completely. Kamila is the main force of this film, and everything depends on her. She’s got an interesting relationship with her mother, which is barely touched upon in this film. She’s also a cheerleader and a good basketball player but doesn’t get to show that side of herself. Additionally, she’s quite a popular kid who everybody loves, and some people are obviously jealous of. Alicia Falco is perfect as Kamila. She’s understated yet unique in her appearance. The styling is great too, and she has lovely chemistry with all the other actors. She’s also done her fair share of older stuff, including In The Company Of Women, 13 Exorcisms, and Un Nuevo Amanecer, amongst others.
Fernando Lindez as Thiago
Thiago is clearly the older brother who is sultry, quiet, and mysterious. He’s a teacher’s assistant now that he’s back, and he’s always got his eyes on Kamila. Thiago is your typical bad boy who only genuinely cares about the main lead girl. He’s not actually got a personality of his own; everything revolves around everyone else’s fantasies about him. Fernando definitely has the look for the dramatic and is perfectly brooding for this role. He’s got good chemistry with Kamila, too, and you can tell how much he’s genuinely pining for her. Of course, there is sadness behind his eyes because there’s a whole lot of trauma that he’s dealt with, all by himself. That’s why he’s the sad brother, eh? If Fernando looks familiar, then that is because he was in the very popular show that ran from 2018 to 2024, Elite, and played the role of Joel.
Diego Vidales as Taylor
Taylor is the golden retriever brother. He’s much friendlier than Thiago, but it’s not like he’s had the best life in the world either. Taylor seems to be opportunistic, but he’s clearly got a good bond with Kamila too, and while this doesn’t get explored at all in the film, she is genuinely attracted to him too, but I can’t tell if it’s because he’s Thiago’s brother or because she likes him too. I don’t know about you, but I personally feel the second film will focus on Taylor rather than Thiago. If you’ve read the books, let us know in the comments! Anyway, Diego is cute, he’s charming, and he’s not really got much to do except be those things in the film. I think there will be more for him to do in the second part, because (spoiler alert) at the end of this film, we see him look at his brother almost villainously. I do hope there’s no rivalry there because it just doesn’t make sense that siblings would leave each other’s sides for love. Anyway, Diego’s not been around for too long, and his major roles have been in the TV shows like Mariliendre.
Eve Ryan as Cata
There’s no such thing as a villain in this film, but Cata comes close. She’s jealous and will do anything in her power to ruin Kamila’s life. There’s no mystery here at all. She just wants Thiago, and so she’s eager to get him, whatever it takes. Of course, she’s also blonde and well-dressed. Eve’s not new to the teen romance film world, though, because we last saw her in Culpa Mia as Jenna.
Fernando Nagore as Jules
According to IMDb, Juls is apparently the lead antagonist in the Dimelo Bajito trilogy, so that’s an interesting thing to find out. Jules is your typical obsessive fan, who happens to be Cata’s half-brother. I think, unlike usual, the one big difference here might be that they will end up working together against Kamila. Jules gets Kamila drunk in this film, and she wakes up hungover on the day of the competition, but we don’t know what happens within this time frame. I personally hope nothing did. Fernando Nagore is Spanish-German and also a director, writer, and producer, along with being a good actor too. He gives off Tom Holland vibes from some angles, which is quite fun. The actor definitely does a good job as Jules. You may have seen him in Millennial Mal, where he also plays an antagonist (dang).
