‘The Traitors’ Season 4 Episode 6 Recap & Review: Who Will Lisa Choose?

Published

I was never really interested in The Traitors as a show, because I’m not a big fan of betrayal and backstabbing, which is clearly central to this game. However, after having watched the show, I completely understand the appeal. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to seek out a show like The Traitors, but now that I HAVE to watch it, I’m not too annoyed by it. It’s definitely entertaining if nothing else, and Alan Cumming’s outfits are what I’m here for anyway (jk). The show so far has been getting better as time passes because now there are enough people for the traitors to find themselves in a tough spot, while the Faithful can finally start to figure out what’s going on. So far, I’ve really been on the side of the traitors, almost because it was the easier place to be. I mean, the show is literally titled “The Traitors.” But now that the competition is getting harder, I find myself swaying a little. Amongst the traitors, I like Candiace a lot, but I think Rob is definitely giving the impression of being the smartest here. Literally nobody is going to suspect him because he’s so well set up. But, on the other hand, Lisa seems to be getting in trouble thanks to Colton, and I don’t know how she’s going to fix this, but we’ll have to wait and see. Last week, the big scandal was whether anybody would have taken a shield, because that would put the whole group in jeopardy. So that’s where we’re starting off this week, wondering if Colton specifically took a shield or not. With that said, let’s get into episode 6.

Did Anyone Take The Shield?

Episode 6 of The Traitors season 4 begins with the infamous breakfast, where everyone is dying for salmon. As usual, everyone comes in in sets of 4, so there’s a suspenseful buildup as they try to figure out if someone was murdered the previous night, i.e., to know if someone did in fact take the shield. But before we know it, everyone shows up at the table, and Alan makes his entry to tell them what they’re supposed to be doing. This might be the most fun of the games on The Traitors, but we’ll talk about that in a bit. Now, there’s already hostility between Lisa and Colton, but in my opinion, Colton is a good deflection for the traitors because he easily looks like one himself. This is really hard, because they have to play their cards right, not to get rid of Colton, and also make sure that he doesn’t turn everyone against Lisa, which is already happening. He’s even getting fellow Housewives to see that something is odd.

What’s In The Cabin?

In episode 6, the game is in a cabin in the woods, a creepy one, where the entire table is a Ouija board, there’s blood dripping from the walls, and baby heads falling out of boxes. Oh, not to forget screaming women with blood all over them and a clown with a balloon. This looks like the most fun game to me, personally. I think when you’re in a stressful position like that, it’s also easier to team up and either fake closeness or give away what you’re genuinely thinking. The prize money is 18,000 dollars, but there are shields in this round too. Will anybody take a shield or not? Well, spoiler alert, nobody does, but that’s also because Natalie immediately yells at everyone, saying that if anybody takes a shield, they’ll be banished from the cabin.

Now, the first pair that goes out doesn’t wait to hear the full name, and instead of Louise Black, they go for the grave of Louise Clarke, losing their prize money. Guess Tara and Candiace are way too scared to be getting this stuff right. But soon enough, the group makes 15000 dollars in total, essentially escaping this escape-room-kinda game, no? There’s some math involved in there, too. Anyway, this time we get a ton of screentime for Ron, who has mostly kept his head down on the show until it comes time for the round tables, because for some odd reason, literally everyone is after him. Anyway, Ron says he’s the proudest he’s ever been of this group now, which is really nice to see. He seems to me the most genuine person on this show, which might be his biggest flaw, unfortunately.

Does A Faithful Or Traitor Get Cancelled This Time?

Last week, Michael’s banishment was the easiest thing the group could’ve done unanimously, but now that a loud, perpetually flabbergasted man like that is gone, choosing who might be a traitor and who is not is way harder now than ever before. This is when all the drama begins, and Colton is out to get Lisa, while a bunch of other people are out to get Colton, but then somehow Ron is still on everyone’s minds. Now, Rob is the first to say Ron is not a traitor, because he feels like he needs to be loyal to him. Ron seems to be an innocent introvert, but he’s been misjudged for those same exact reasons. But the problem is, Rob also likes Colton, so really, who is he going to choose here?

Kristen, Mark, Maura, Tara, and Johnny want to gather 8 people to vote out Colton, because they’re certain he’s a traitor and has been trying to shift everyone’s gaze to other people as a “leader.” They immediately recruit Eric, and though they have their doubts, these guys are set on Colton. But on the other hand, Colton is playing his own game, trying to get Lisa to confess she’s a traitor. Funny guy.

When it’s finally time for the round table, everyone is super quiet until Mark starts by talking about how he’s got his eyes on Ron because of how he got some facts wrong a little bit earlier and sent out a Housewife who didn’t deserve it. Ron’s got a great counterattack where he says that nobody is mad at Colton because everybody hated Michael, but because everyone liked Porsha, he’s getting all the hate. Ron then chooses to say goodbye to everybody individually, almost like he knows it’s going to make some of them guilty, and it works. It’s definitely a good strategy that immediately gets some cogs turning, and a bunch of people then say they don’t think Ron’s a traitor. This prompts Colton to bring out his theory of Lisa being a traitor. While this guy is completely right, the way he’s going about this really isn’t working too well. But also, Lisa isn’t great at proving herself as a Faithful either.

The most shocking thing happens near the end of The Traitors episode 6, where Rob decides to vote to banish Lisa, completely throwing everyone off his scent but putting her in danger of getting thrown out of the show anyway. It almost gets tied when Ron has 5 votes, Colton and Lisa have 4 each, and finally, Mark votes for Ron, and that’s goodbye to another Faithful. All of this completely flips the dynamic in the group now. I think there are a few Faithful who have each other’s backs, but I don’t know how long that’ll last.

Candiace throws a grape at Rob when the three traitors get into the kitchen to try to discuss what happened. It does look like a couple of people may have seen them, but they just walk past the group, I guess? Thought that was quite weird, but anyway, Rob is now in great trouble with the traitors, but there are bigger fish to fry. Despite this tension, there’s a massive banquet to enjoy tonight, and the traitors have to kill in plain sight. Alan has given them a beautiful jewel, which one of them has to wear. Whoever touches this stone first will be murdered. Obviously, this is the kind of thing Lisa can rock. Rob can’t even wear it ironically, so that’s decided. Lisa had some ideas for whom to kill, but if she takes out Colton now, it’ll make her the target for sure. So in my opinion, she’s not going to go for him. Yam Yam is a good fake traitor, so he should stay, but for the rest of them, there really isn’t anyone I can pinpoint for her. However, considering the whole housewife discussion, I have a feeling she’s going to go for one of them again. Who do you think will be murdered next week?
