In the previous episode of Tulsa King season 2, we saw that Dwight and Bill decided to work with each other and stop the petty warfare which had caused both of them to incur heavy losses. Dwight’s wind farm was attacked by Thresher’s goons, and that created even more animosity between them. Armand was stuck in a perilous situation, and he knew that if Dwight got to know that he was the one who was leaking intel to Thresher, then he wouldn’t leave him alive. Amidst all the chaos, another incident happened that disturbed the delicate balance of things. Somebody planted a bomb in Dwight’s car with the intention of killing him. Tyson’s father got gravely injured, and he was lucky to have survived the attack. So let’s recap the events of episode 7 to find out who was really trying to kill Dwight.
Spoiler Alert
Who bombed Dwight’s car?
Dwight was adamant about finding out who was behind the bombing. Initially, Dwight believed that Chickie could have been the one who planted a bomb in his car and therefore called him to confront him about it. Chickie didn’t have any proof to show that he was innocent. However, as soon as Dwight heard his voice, he just intuitively knew that Chickie didn’t have any role to play in the entire scheme of things. Dwight also checked on Bill Bevilaqua, and the latter also told him that he had no reason to kill him, and if he had actually wanted to do something like that, planting a bomb would have been the last thing he would have done. Dwight, meanwhile, was trying to procure CCTV footage from the area so that he could find out under whose name the white Prius, which Tyson thought was following them, was registered. Dwight found the footage, but what he didn’t know was that the man worked for Jackie, Cal Thresher’s partner. Dwight paid a visit to Thresher, too, and he told him that he would burn his world down the moment he got solid evidence to prove that he was behind the attack. Well, Thresher was also kept in the dark by his partner, and he had no clue that Jackie would do something so audacious. Thresher was scared that Dwight would connect the dots and come after his life. But before that could happen, Jackie killed his henchman and then later destroyed the white Prius, too, so that there was no evidence that could lead Dwight to them. Thresher was not happy with his partner. At times, he felt that he had no control over him. Jackie was a hardened criminal, and his way of doing things was very different from that of Thresher’s. Jackie was like a loose cannon, and I believe Thresher would end up in deep trouble because of him in the future.
What happened between Vince and Chickie?
In the previous episode, we saw that Chickie was not happy with Vince holding the “sit-down” without him. Chickie was an insecure man, and he didn’t like his counterparts giving that much importance to Vince. But Vince was a sensible guy, and people noticed that. Nobody wanted to deal with a reckless hothead whose priority was not to find a solution but only to mess things up. When Dwight gave Chickie a call, he asked to put Vince on the call too. Chickie got angry, and that’s when Dwight told him to stay out of it since he was not present during the “sit-down”. Dwight’s words made Chickie even more insecure. Then, to make matters worse, even Bill called, and he, too, asked the same thing. And even though Chickie was livid, he knew he couldn’t do much in such a situation. Vince knew that it was about time Chickie was removed from his position of power before he spoiled everything. In season 2, episode 7, Vince met the spokespersons of every other mafia family, and he very explicitly stated to them what he wanted. They all seemed to agree with Vince, and they told him that they would get back to him after consulting their respective bosses. I believe it was just a matter of time before Vince become the head of New York. I think with him being in charge of New York, his relationship with Dwight will also get better. Probably in the future, Vince and Dwight will team up and work together. But as of now, Vince needed to plan his moves very cautiously. He didn’t want Chickie to get a whiff of what he was up to. A change in leadership was on the cards, and I believe by the end of season 2, we will know if Vince will be able to outplay Chickie on his own home turf.
Who did Tyson kill?
Tyson was guilty, as he felt that he should have been in that car and not his father. He wanted revenge, but Dwight told him to not jump to conclusions. Dwight asked Tyson to not do anything until he figured out who was behind the attack. Tyson’s mother was disappointed in him, and her silence affected him even more. She asked him not to meet his father until she got to the hospital. Tyson had believed that it was Bill Bevilaqua who was behind the attack. Mitch had a talk with Tyson, and he told him not to go down the path of no return. He told him that, back in the day, he, too, had done something reckless, and to date, he has repented of his actions. Mitch told Tyson in clear words that if he killed somebody, his life wouldn’t be the same again. But Tyson was not ready to listen to anybody.
At the end of Tulsa King episode 7, Tyson first went to his father, asked for his forgiveness, and then rode to Bill’s partner’s house. Bill’s partner came out of his mansion, all guns blazing, and that is when Tyson also began shooting at his vehicle. Bill’s partner was gravely injured, and it felt like he wouldn’t survive. Tyson, just moments before this incident, had gotten a call from Dwight, who asked him not to act impulsively. But Tyson committed the blunder, and in the subsequent episodes, we will get to know what consequences his actions would entail. Bill and Dwight had come to terms in the previous episode, and things looked good on that front. Bill wasn’t fond of Dwight, but he knew that the latter had the potential to earn them a profit. Bill knew that a deal with Dwight would benefit him greatly. But now, after what Tyson has done, I believe that trust will be broken. Bill will go against Dwight and probably join hands with Thresher. It would be interesting to see what Dwight does next and how he deals with the conflict at hand.
