Undercover Miss Hong has given me hope again for weekend K-dramas. To be honest, I’m genuinely tired of the law dramas, because not only do they often get too stressful for no reason, but they also focus on the technicalities, which, for a layman audience, aren’t really as fun as they think they are. I’ve been a fan of Park Shin-Hye since her early days, and by that I mean since she was a child actress. But, as an adult, her career trajectory has never gone down, and I hope it continues to remain the same. She’s not only one of the best and, unfortunately, very underrated actresses in the Korean industry, but she’s also a recent mother and an inspiration for many girls across the globe. It’s not her fault she’s so good that she got typecast for crying, but having said that, I love how she’s now turned into badass characters who are just too cool and reason enough to be the main plot of the show. I don’t want to speak too soon, but I feel like this might end up being one of my favorite shows of 2026 already (yes, I’m biased). But, with that said, let’s jump straight into episodes 3 and 4.
Spoiler Alert
Does Jung-Woo Recognize Keum-Bo?
Episode 2 of Undercover Miss Hong ended with the shocking turn of events where Jung-Woo spots Keum-Bo and flips her around to look at her face. As we suspected, she calls him uncle and asks him if he knows her. Before he can counter, she’s already run away. We see a flashback in which he gifted her a sand hourglass with his initials on it. This was supposed to mean they were around for each other even when they weren’t really (cute). To be honest, I don’t want these two to end up together, because I kind of like Albert being obsessed with Keum-Bo a little more. Yes, there’s also Yong-Gi pining after her, but considering she’s pretending to be 20, I’d imagine he’s too old to be thinking about her romantically? It’s all a bit blurry, but Keum-Bo is certainly using it to her advantage.
Does Bok-Hee Think Jang-Mi Is A Thief?
Later, back in room 301, Bok-Hee wants to order a midnight snack, and even though it’s not allowed, she has her ways of getting it delivered. Keum-Bo gets suspicious of her again. After they’re done eating, Bok-Hee gifts Jang-Mi (I’ll call her this while she’s pretending to be her) a little plushie keyring. Now all 4 have matching ones, and Jang-Mi’s is pink, of course. But all the fun is lost when Bok-Hee spots Jang-Mi sneaking into her bag. She yells so loudly that the warden shows up, and Jang-Mi pretends she’s very upset that Bok-Hee called her a cheat, making the warden check if anything is missing. When it’s all confirmed, Bok-Hee is the one having to apologize to Jang-Mi. The fight doesn’t last too long, though, because Jang-Mi defends Bok-Hee when Cha Jung-Il tries to make Bok-Hee look bad. Bok-Hee and Eun-Joo immediately show up for Jang-Mi, even staying late in the office because she’s working late. Finally, they mess with his things, putting laxatives in his vitamins and wiping his desk with his toothbrush (ew). I’m loving this friendship.
Why Does Jang-Mi Get In Trouble?
It’s finally time for the risk management team to have an office meeting, and Jang-Mi gets yelled at for not setting up drinks and food as the female employee (love how the show is calling out misogyny). Anyway, Yong-Gi goes into describing an international information-sharing system called the intranet system and how it would have to be manually developed for the company. At the same time, Cha tries to sneak a peek after insulting the risk management team, but he finds himself in a rush to go to the toilet (go Nora). On the other hand, Jang-Mi says they’ll develop the software in 3 days, and suddenly, 3 days have passed, and the system is in place. After all this, Keum-Bo has a breakthrough when she learns from Yong-Gi that So’s dog’s name is actually Yehppee. In order to find out more about him, she decides to break into his drawers, but for this she needs to be helping Eun-Joo.
While she’s distributing lunch to all the trading dudes, she notices something really shady: one of the guys is trying to dump all of Hanmin’s shares in Hanye Electronics at limit down. I don’t really understand what this means, but Jang-Mi sees this happening and instantly goes into boss lady mode, stopping him from selling. She immediately calls the Korea Exchange to cancel the 11:27 order from Hanmin. Now, So gets in trouble because he’s the trading team boss, but someone lower down has to be fired for this. Now, news of what Jang-Mi did has spread across the city because of an online forum called the Yeouido Pirates (Yeouido’s where all the offices are).
Now, Jang-Mi is desperate to get an invite, but all her roommates have used up their invites, which leaves her sad. However, Albert offers her an invitation. It takes some time, but she makes it inside to find out what the goss is. She needs to find the boss of Onemillion, who needs to sign the cancelled order. It takes a lot of work, but with the help of her friends, she’s able to find it. At the same time, Nora tells her mother that she needs Jang-Mi not to get fired, so she works on that. It’s interesting to note that Albert and Nora don’t know each other. Isn’t she his stepaunt? This family tree is very confusing. An investigation also goes down at work, but Jang-Mi avoids getting in trouble thanks to Yun coming to the rescue as always. Love this duo.
Why Did Keum-Bo Leave Jung-Woo?
It appears that all those years ago, Keum-Bo left Jung-Woo because a similar mess had occurred back then, and Keum-Bo had tried to do the right thing, while Jung-Woo agreed to follow his higher-ups and do what was right for a big business like Hanmin. This is probably why he is now the president of Hanmin, because he doesn’t have a moral compass anymore, but Keum-Bo has always been the kind of person to do the right thing. Additionally, a man killed himself because of that incident back then, leaving Keum-Bo completely devastated and broken. Jung-Woo still insisted she side with him this one time, which was the last straw for her. So she decided to leave him.
How Does Keum-Bo Avoid Jung-Woo?
On the other hand, Jung-Woo goes to snoop in Keum-Bo’s restaurant after spotting the hourglass on Jang-Mi’s desk. Her parents never met him, so they started to look at him as a future son-in-law immediately. When she shows up, he’s already left, but he returns because he’s left his phone behind. She rushes him out and tells him that her “sister,” Keum-Bo, told her everything, and most of her things are hand-me-downs from her. It’s a decent cover for the time being, but I’m not sure it’s enough. Nora is also secretly meeting with her mom at the same time and hides from Keum-Bo when she returns to the dorms. Soon after, Jang-Mi goes into full-on detective mode, along with the help of her 3 roommates. They’re all super helpful, and ultimately that’s the reason she’s able to get the signature, which eventually gets So in trouble. Miss Song tries to ask Kang if she can take his job when So is fired, but unfortunately, his eyes are on Jung-Woo only. Obviously, how can women do such jobs, no? (sigh).
Who’s In The Room?
In the ending of Undercover Miss Hong episode 4, it’s payday, and the girls decide to go out to dinner and drinks to celebrate. Earlier in the episode, Nora had received chocolates from her mother, but two of them were missing, and none of the girls ate them. At the same time, while Richard Park from Onemillion is trying to solve his problem, the same goon who kidnapped Keum-Bo earlier in the show shows up. I wonder if he works for So Kang himself. Whose handiwork is he doing now? What if Jung-Woo is responsible? But more shocking is that when the girls return to the room and find that someone has completely turned everything topsy-turvy. Before we can find out who it is, the episode ends with Jang-Mi, who is meant to be the youngest of the lot, trying to open the fabric wardrobe the person is hiding in. I think it might just be one of the other secretaries? I think this is just a distracting decoy, because no way is a man in there. Plus, the kidnapper guy has gone after Richard. Someone just wanted to steal the chocolate, maybe?
