‘Davey & Jonesie’s Locker’ Season 2 Expectations: Will Davey And Jonesie Find Their Way Back To 6689?

Published

Davey & Jonesie’s Locker follows the misadventures of two inseparable best friends who find themselves thrust into an unexpected journey to prove they’re capable of making friends after being deemed too co-dependent. Little do they know, their ordinary locker holds the portal to a mind-bending adventure through the multiverse, orchestrated by their eccentric science teacher, Mr. Schneider. As they navigate through bizarre realms and encounter peculiar beings, they uncover Mr. Schneider’s grander scheme for the universe; however, his plans have been completely toppled thanks to Davey and Jonesie’s interference. The main cause of this whole mess is misunderstandings and false betrayal. Fueled by oddball humor and over-the-top escapades, each episode unfolds like a surreal dream brought to life. The season culminates in a prominent cliffhanger, leaving us anticipating a second season, though it isn’t confirmed just yet. Like many YA dramas before it, Davey & Jonesie’s Locker tries to take everything up a notch but lacks substance. It’s an attempt to be self-aware, comical, and appreciate the weirdos, though it doesn’t quite translate into the many subplots of the 10-episode series. Additionally, we don’t really learn anything about the two girls except that their love for each other is unwavering. So, how will this play out in a second season? Let’s try to figure it out.

Spoiler Alert

Is Schneider alive?

For certain, Schneider has some more tricks up his sleeve, and though Schneider of 6689 has been erradicated by Andy (whatever that means), there’s a possibility that, just like the first time, he somehow saved himself through his portal key. On the other hand, because he has the key with him, wherever he is, he can possibly figure out how to come back to his universe. It seems as if Schneider is the smartest person in the multiverse, seeing as he’s the only one who is capable of conversing with his other selves from multiple universes through hologram technology, and he’s the one who created the gun Andy zapped him with, so he’ll surely be able to figure something out. However, it needs to be soon because 6689 is in danger, as are Davey and Jonesie.

What will Cheryl do?

Now that Cheryl knows that Schneider didn’t betray her, there’s a chance she’ll figure out a way to help him. Additionally, she knows there’s a snitch in the organization, and though it’s not confirmed, we can imagine she knows it’s Andy because of how much he troubles her all the time anyway. Since Cheryl is on the good side now, there’s a chance she’ll team up with Davey and Jonesie to save Schneider and all the universes in danger. With the four of them as a team, there’s a possibility that the universes that Andy is targeting will be saved. I suppose we can imagine we’ll get to see a little bit more about Cheryl and Schneider’s friendship as well. Or at least, I’d hope so, because the first season dragged on their storyline for so long and gave us the least exciting backstory—an incomplete one at that. There’s a lot that can be done there, so let’s hope we get to see it.

Will Andy succeed in his plan?

Andy’s locked up 6689 and made sure Schneider is out of his way, making him free to do what he likes because nobody else knows what he’s really up to. Andy’s plan is to take back the universes from the lesser forms. I’m not quite certain what the meaning of lesser forms is here because it seems to me that there isn’t really any difference between Andy and the kids from 6689; however, we’ll have to give them the benefit of the doubt. So, in all the universes, there are humans, but they’re at different levels of advancement from each other. I suppose M.O.M. is governed by some of the “best” of the lot. Now, though Schneider initially hated being a science teacher in a random school in all these universes, he’s definitely grown to like being around the girls, and so we know he’s going to try and save the day.

What about the girls?

At the end of the day, the show is called Davey & Jonesie’s Locker, so of course, most importantly, we need to know what the girls are going to do. At the end of the first season, the girls find themselves searching for the mascot heads after causing all the anomalies to come into their universe. However, Andy’s locked the portal, so they can’t come back to 6689 and save their universe. I suppose we can imagine that, just like in season 1, the girls will collaborate with other Schneiders and then save the day with all their friends. That is how the show works. Regarding their friendship, we’ll probably see some more ups and downs between them as they have to stick together to survive again. We know for a fact that this causes some sort of anomaly in their friendship too; however, like Cheryl claims, maybe their friendship is actually a threat, not to the universe but to Andy’s plan. So it’s possible; the plan will be to weaponize their bond to defeat the great evil that is Andy.

On the other hand, the rest of the kids will probably get asked to help, though their memories will eventually get wiped. Maybe this time around we’ll get to see the girls return to 6689 and finally become close to their classmates. Seeing how bizarre this show is, Davey & Jonesie’s Locker will probably deliver many curveballs simply because it can. It’s like an elaborate look into the writers’ wild imagination, so there’s a chance none of this might actually happen, and maybe it’s all just a really long combined dream, and the girls are actually in a stimulation, laid out on tables by futuristic higher life forms. I suppose we’ll only find out when we get Davey & Jonesie’s Locker season 2.
