‘If Anything Happens I Love You’ Summary & Review – Reel of Riveting Emotions.

Published

“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.” Khalil Gibran must have been in an extraterrestrial territory of mindfulness when he thought about the aforementioned words, it stings as well as soothes. If Anything Happens I Love You by Will McCormack and Michael Govier embraces the philosophy of loss and the tryst with sadness and melancholia.

The creators of the short had a vision and execution was sublime as in their words If Anything Happens I Love You was created for the ones lost, and the ones left behind. They understood the notion that people who are left behind have to endure the pain of losing someone and have to conjure up some willpower to live with it.

The Epitome of Sadness

In this world, if I have understood something correctly, it’s simply the meaning of unconditional love which is personified by one’s parents, though some of us are not that fortunate enough, it still holds true. If Anything Happens I Love You, shows a range of emotions that are supported by an animation. The story deals with the aftereffects of a tragedy where parents are in despair of losing their child and are mourning the sad demise of their daughter. The storytelling is on point and makes a person introspective about the things that most of us take for granted.

On Point Production

What makes a 12 minute short so much interesting and thought-provoking? The answer my friend is the simple but effective method even in being more creative and out-of-the-box. The visual appeal of the short is in its extremely precise minimalism which is enhanced by the chronological setting of the short, everything falls in place and works beautifully.

The Social Issue

In the era of predominant modern warfare, crime, and other heinous activities, the places like schools and religious monuments have witnessed the wrath of the ever-growing discontent in humans. The school shooting incidents that have become extremely dangerous for society are very well shown from the perspective of people who are related to kids who lost their lives. If Anything Happens I Love You makes you think about the parents of those innocent kids and makes you wonder about the situations that led to such instances.

12 Minutes of Riveting Emotions.

The whole short is a piece of art created to unravel the sadness of the whole scenario and does justice to it in 12 minutes or less. The creators have been extremely vigilant about making sure they do not underestimate the gravity of the situation at hand. In my first go, I found myself simply in awe of the world created and the emotions that guide them. It’s an amazing short and it is going to leave you teary-eyed and the end and it’s a non-negotiable thing.

If Anything Happens I Love You is streaming on Netflix.
